Let me give you a rundown for my big night. I run a charity haunt, I fund the whole thing out of my pocket. I run a free will donation for the charity that way I am not a buisness. I order pizza for my volunteers, last year I ordered 14 large 1 topping pizzas. Dominoes gave me a deal on these pizzas. This year I gave little Caesars a proposal, they are going to give me 15 large one topping pizzas and give me a discount on all pop or anything else I purchase!!! Wow thanks little caesar!!

You've just reminded me that I really should get a couple of pizzas in to thank my helper team on the day of the party

Yeah, a large percentage of our haunt budget each year is spent on volunteers. We feed them not only on the night of, but also during construction weekends leading up to the event.

When we have the budget, we also make staff tee shirts as a thank you.

If you don't have the budget to spend on pizza, one thing that has worked for us in the past is to have a pot luck that coincides with your volunteer events. Clear the kitchen, and have everyone bring something. (This works better on construction days than on the big night, since people are less harried.) It's not as generous as springing for pizza, but it at least gets some chow on the table to keep peoples' energy up.
