+1.
For me and my family, it's about making Halloween memories for all the kids and their parents who visit us on Halloween night (usually over 500). I want to be remembered years from now as "that Halloween House". The one kids talk about for days after, and parents return to every year. Hopefully it might inspire others to decorate a little bit more, or even take it to the level many of us do. Standing back and watching the kid's reactions, parents taking pictures and video, some good scares and the screams that follow, makes all the effort worthwhile. As the vast majority of visitors don't even know us, we do it anonymously, but are still thought of and remembered for the work we put into it. Several times over the years, parents have come to us and thanked us for doing so much to make Halloween fun for them and their kids, and hearing the kids say "this is the best house ever" is the best compliment ever. If I can continue to elicit these reactions, then I've accomplished what I set out to do!

I tend to get overly existential about Halloween at times, and at those moments, my goal is to find and preserve some piece of that childhood wonder and innocence that Halloween evoked in me so strongly as a child. I guess its sometimes a vehicle to take me back in time, and probably why I love it so much.

In my more sensible hours, my goal is to just try to enjoy the simple things about fall and Halloween and enjoy the moment without over-analyzing it.

Here Here ! jdubbya! I agree wholeheartedly!

My goal this year is to try & just complete the projects that we had on the list for this year. For me it was getting my witches bottles done, the candy coffins, more fake food done for the cadaver cafe, the rocks to cover the spotlights, the tombstones finished, & to pull off adding these extra rooms. For Jer its addition to the cemetery fence, the cemetery sign arch that goes over the pilliars, the pvc figures & the organ set in place with some pipes.

We have a lot more going on halloween night this year & that is gonna be a big one to pull off. As far as excitement that comes along with everything every year, we love what we do & we love how people come & enjoy themselves.

Yesterday was a cool morning for me.......Jerry actually sat down here at the computer with me & I took him on a trip to all the places I have been that have halloween projects I would like to do for NEXT YEAR!! Tell ya what kids I can't get that 'Davis Graveyard" musical thriller live performance done by the Milwaukee dance/team out of my head!! I just loved that. Talk about entertaining your TOT's on a whole new level!!

So part of my goal also for this season is to get 2009 season out of my head & just focus on 2008. Its hard when it gets this close cause I already find myself thinking about what I want to add to the already ready to go haunt!!!

My goal is to have a successful theme party this year (usually we just do a generic Halloween party), to not be in tears an hour before the party because my hubby hasn't finished putting the decorations up, and to take our haunt to the next level.

I want my costume to be kick ass this year.
I want to have fun the night of.
I want to wear comfortable shoes this year.
I want to score some good Halloween finds while shopping!
Debating on if I should have a party or not. I live in an apartment so decorating is a little limited.

My goal this year is to work on a pirate themed entrance to the yard. I am hoping to build a deck to a pirate ship with wheel and all. (not to scale, but enough to make it look good). With that I am shooting for multiple skeleton pirates dressed up and looking as if they are attacking anyone who enters the yard.

My main goal is to be finished on time this year. Every year we are adding new props, scenes, etc. and before we know it is Halloween Eve. We carve approx. 30 pumkins for the kids, so by 6pm the night before I have to start the carving process. I am never done and thus I am up all night carving and use the daylight hours finishing up the yard decorations. Where I live, Western New York, the winds and the weather fight me every year so I am constanately fixing things that are blown over.
