Just wondering what everybody uses as a web shooter and which ones are the best to buy. Pneumatic of course. I am going to get one for this year and not sure which one to get. Also, if anyone has made one from the Glue Gun Hacks, I would love to hear how those are too. Im going to use it outside to put on most of my props. Tomstones, Fencing, Gates, Columns, Boarded up windows.. stuff like that. Thanks for your help!

Pends on how cold it gets that time of year in your area. the base $45-$60 models are good for me here in cali, but the colder areas you will need a gun that has a higher temp & reheat or it will take you all day ! Check out Minions Web - Index Page - CobWeb Maker, Air Cannon, Effects - Halloween Portal, Haunt Products, Hallow-links.com, Projects, How To pages, cemetery photos, concepts, epitaths, recipes, sound effects/video/games FTP servers they have different temp heat guns pending your needs. The hotter the gun the more webbing ya can shoot in a shorter time. though about building one, for me,saving 20-30 bucks & running to the stores for parts & time to build i went with buying & spent that time building props.

I don't understand exactly what these are.

It looks like a hot glue gun that's got a different tip that makes a fine mist instead of a dab of glue, but I guess it's run off an air compressor? How do they work? I watched the video and can't figure it out exactly.

Do you need an air compressor for it? I do not have one.

edit: yep...I see that you do need an air compressor. Stink. It does make sense though!

They are glue guns, modified with an air passage, simple design, not sure if the tip is smaller, but as the glue is heated, when you give the trigger a little nudge a small amount of glue ozzes out,at that time you turn on the air on ( additional knob mounted at the base of glue gun) & the air draws out the glue in fine strands ( air outlet at end of glue gun just below glue tip). The hotter the gun temp is the more you can "shoot" before it goes into rewarm-up. the upper end ones can shoot webs pretty far. You will need a compressor, a smaller 'pancake" ( 4-5 gal tank with a 1-2 hp motor) is a good min unit. You can get good deals thru Harbor Freight ($99.) if you have one near you,or check on like craigslist.org in you area, may find a good used one for cheap or free ! Plus good if you start getting into pneumatic props,etc......

You know what...after watching the video, I would definately jump on a group buy as well to get one of the "bigger" ones! Do you think we could get enough interest.

When you say "group buy," do you mean that you want to try and get a discount by buying multiple units at once? Has anyone asked the sellers if this is an option? If so, I would be interested.
