I need some help. Anyway, after christmas last year, I bought one of those large white x-mas trees from walmart for the purpose of using it for halloween. I was going to spray paint it black, but now I think I just want to leave it white. I ordered the clocked color changing women and think she would look good around the tree since she's black. It would really stand out. What do ya think?
halloween is a super cool holiday.

I have a white Hannukah (sp?) bush (it's a twig tree which I bought on ebay last year) and thought about painting it black until it arrived. Personally, I love the way the Halloween ornaments stand out against the white - many of my ornaments are black and would have got lost in a black tree. (I do have a small black twig tree as well, so I consider myself pretty lucky as I could see which ornaments looked best on which coloured tree)

My advice to you, decorate it as it is and see what you think. You can always paint it next year! Have fun!

This is a very good point! I am sure it will look great whatever you decide to do!

I agree to keep it white. The halloween colors will look fantastic against it. If you are pretty crafty I know that the craft stores have many wood cut out halloween items that would be cool on your tree and I typically see during christmas bulbs that are clear to paint yourself. I have a couple of little halloween trees that are black with mini decorations and I just love them but thanks to your post now I will have to look into a bigger tree. Thank you! More ideas for my house. My husband thought that I possibly couldn't put more decorations in the house, HA! Little does he know...................

Sweet! Thanks for the help everyone. This year I will start collecting ornemants. What's something for a good tree toper? A reaper or a pumpkin? We got one of those angle topers on sale last year so maybe I'll work on her and make her gothic.

Either that or make her a witch, that would actually be fairly easy, I think that would look great on the white tree, stand out real well!
I have flying monkeys- and I'm not afraid to use them!

I think it will look great white...like everyone pointed out...the ornaments will stand out for sure! you can also add Halloween ribbon, greens, orange, blacks, and purple...maybe one with a pattern and two plain...try to use two or three different kinds of ribbon....it will look fantastic!

bethene- Great Idea for the witch but I don't even know where to start that! Have you sceen something like that before?

sweet&sinister- That's a great idea for the owls and the crows. Glow in the dark spiderweb would be neat! Maybe for the crows and owls, I could get that glow in the dark paint from walmart and paint there eyes. At night they would glow.

gromit05- The ribbon is also sweet! Looks like I'll be spending alot of time in the craft stores. Where is the best place to get such ribbon? Oh, I can just picture it now!

    Other things-
They have candy corn lights at Big Lots. I may get a few box's of those.
Also some of those mini hanging ghouls.

Thanks for the ideas everyone! Can't wait to get started!
