Wow, time flies! Just look at that countdown clock! By now everyone should have settled into their grand plan for this year. The catalogs have started to arrive and the stores are giving us a taste of this year's offerings.
So tell us about your haunt.

Uh....
"other", I suppose, would be the best description. I don't know that there is a "theme".
Folks will enter the front yard, which will house the field of skulls again.

YouTube - 2007
However, it will be much more crowded, more skulls, more poles. A simple rope fence around the yard, forcing everyone through an entrance and walk by this banner. (in progress)
About midway through the path will be Fred. Up on a 12' pole, and highlighted by a stage spotlight.
This is to draw their attention away from my son, who will be playing the role of the headhunter, and jumping out from his hut (in progress) off to the side/behind while folks are looking at Fred. He also has the glow bracelets for wee ones that are more scared.
They will enter the side through "Jack", the '06 entrance.
And pass by the scarecrows along the side of the house.
Instead of it ending there, like last year, they'll have to turn left and head through the '07 entrance.
YouTube - Entrance 2007
And cross the new 'graveyard'.
(in progress)
Before getting to me, with a firebowl, surrrounded by crystal skulls and the candy drop.
It hasn't been determined whether I wear last year's mask, or if I manage to get the new one painted and finished to my liking in time (in progress)
Finally exitting out the OTHER side of the house, possibly past a comment/suggestion box if I have time.
If there's a theme that fits that, I'm not aware of it.

Love the skulls on a stake. I'm going to do a few for this year.
My theme is pirates.
I haven't had so much fun making props before. My only concern is that I try to make it scary, not silly.

UnOrthodOx,
Great-looking plan. That looks like it will be truly terrifying. You've got to do the new mask, it looks great (even green)!
It's so wonderful that your son helps you. You both make a great team.

Another thread that is just fantastic. Thanks unorthodox for starting.
I have seen bits and pieces of your hut build and skull stakes...But seeing it all together- it is quite the unusal project. I love it because it is so different. I like traditional halloween, but get very excicted when people stretch and go outside of tradition. Also that it a family affair with you makes is awesome. Very unsettling to see all those skulls on poles.
( also love your house re-do on another thread. Great work)
Pumkin Princess- I had to laugh when I read your theme was pirates and you wanted skulls on the sitck. Somehow your name threw me off. Was expecting something toadly different.
How's the pirate thing coming?
Newbie Haunter- WoW. Are you having fun shopping and decorating. You have quite the variety of rooms. I am looking forward to seeing what you do. Sounds very stimulating.
the Hall....I would do some kind of spider thing......lots of webs and fine thread hanging down to touch people....just a thought.
Black Friday- you said you only throw out a couple of decoration in the past. But this year your going to have different themes and a haunted walk. Hum??? I can't imagine where you would get any ideas for this. Lets see......Nope, don't know of anyplace or anyone you could be inspired from. LOL. YOU know I am kidding ofcourse. Can't wait to see - hear of more details.
Crossblades- I'd be ruunnnnnnning. I am not a fan of the evil clown group. Scary stuff to me. But I know the TOT's love it. Sounds cool....just don't want to be there ! LOL !
Natascha- Face Your Fears. I have heard, maybe it was you on another thread, about this kind of party. I am going to have to look into this. How does one decorate for that?
What do you do. All I can think of is eating bugs. ( have your seen the Chinese menu photo's going around on the web?)
Well we have a haunted Swamp for our party in the backyard. Gators, giant mosquitoes ( some real and the larger ones are props. LOL). Our front yard for TOT and display is kind of traditional cemetery this year. Here is a photo of part of the swamp:

Today the Pond. Tomorrow The World!
All this has Happened Before and will Happen Again
