Every year we go all out and decorate the inside of the house with the exception of our bedrooms but I always feel like my kitchen is lacking in the "creep" factor that is found in the rest of the house.

I set up a sciene lab and have a boiling cauldron on the counter and some other creepy decorations around but I find it difficult to do too much and still keep the kitchen functional. I really want to go OVER the top this year and I would love to hear your ideas and see pictures of your creepiest kitchen. .

I bought some kitchen scene setters last year - I think I got them from Oriental Trading. Anyway, they cover your kitchen cabinets - you need to tape them on and trim them as needed - and make them look like a spooky lab scene. There's also a cover for your refrigerator that's cool too. Definitely dressed up the kitchen.

Oh, I also hung some bloody hands and feet on twine from the ceiling to give it more of a butcher shop look.

Yes I agree with colmmoo, they sure do dress up the kitchen. We used them for our "Cadaver Cafe & Candy Kitchen" last season & it made all the difference. This is an ongoing project in our kitchen, its where the kids pick up their bag of popcorn & treat bag.

The goal is to make as many fake halloween foods as we can & platter them out for the kids to see. We started this last year with breaded corn rats, & finger food, am working on rotten cotten candy & creepy caramel apples along with some others for this season. We put out a lot of halloween dishes on the counters & fill everything with candy.

I posted a link to my kitchen pictures here for you so you could see the scene setters.

Muffy your kitchen is WONDERFUL! I LOVE the creatures on the walls and the little nick nacks scattered around. And where did you get your Skeleton plates/bowls from? I simply must get some of those!

Your kitchen is wonderful Muffy! Very coool. I'm sure the kids just sit there and stare at the crazy kitchen ;-) Then they go home and tell their moms to do the same thing, I'm sure.

Muffy, your kitchen is lovely! It's funny, if I saw a kitchen like that with real bugs and rats and a rotting head in the fridge, I'm not sure I'd say it's lovely
