If you live near a Winners / HomeSense...

    The Halloween stuff is out.

There is some awesome stuff; e.g., large, 50-lb gargoyles.

    The prices are sick low.

    Good question, colmmoo.

From what I gather, Winners / HomeSense (which I think is only in Canada) was acquired by TJX in 1990. At the time, TJX owned HomeGoods, a US chain.

I don't know if HomeGoods is the same concept as HomeSense - i.e., basically Chinese imports with a relatively low markup - but if it is, then run, don't walk.

I had one of my HomeSense gargoyles stolen last year. The store manager called me a few days ago to say that they had them again this year, so I went and bought a new pair (wanted matching colours).

These babies are only $45 each (after negotiating a 25% discount because they are chipped...heh.) They are fibreglass reinforced plaster and look absolutely amazing for any cemetery-themed haunt.

    Good luck.

    JD

Hmmm... oh yeah I forgot about them. Last Year I picked up a couple of really cool Celtic Cross tombstones (see below) but I held off on the gargoyles.

Willpower, willpower, need willpow... oh the heck with it! LOL

I got both in the Vancouver (BC) area. If I remember correctly there were 3 designs in total and 2 of the 3 came in both the grey and the tan colours (I prefer grey)!

I will have to hit them again this year ... lol!
