I don't leave anything out unsupervised that I can't afford to lose.

I plan to run a video camera on the yard from a window. If something comes up missing, the responsible teen next door knows ALL of the other teens in the 'hood and he said he would be glad to help me ID them. If they're wearing masks, there's not a lot I can do except rebuild that stuff the next year. If they are dumb enough to go "unmasked", I would most definitely press charges.

Default missing props

We have been lucky so far. I finally got 1 thing stolen that I hoped would be stolen. It was one of those little dolls that crafters make that look like they are standing in the corner crying. Well I put it as close to the sidewalk as I could, finally somebody took her, I didn t like it...but it was given to me and I always say I'll use what ever anyone gives me (lol)
I usually put dummys out front of my house and bring in the heads( masks) in the evenings. Usually all the clothes are from goodwill and didn t cost much. My tombstones are made of wood, so they are heavy and not to easy to steal. I also have 2 signs, one says video servllience, and the other says
property protected by smith and wesson. I keep the back yard locked. Thats is where the majority of our stuff is.But if some one wants something bad enough... they'll find a way to steal it no matter what ya do. There is a haunt on the other side of the city and that guy, has everything wired down., you can see all the wires, so any thiefs would know they would have some trouble taking things. that helps I guess.

Oh I forgot to say.. we never let anyone in the haunt with a mask on. we tell them its for their own saftey ,because of the uneven ground.( that way we get a good look at everyone who goes thru)

wooohh i know cops sometimes dont care much about those things but if it is to that point cant you call the police station of your district and ask for more surveillance in the neibourghood cause in a way they have some weapons if it damages your sutff ?
or get a camera surveillance ? or fake camera mounted on a little motor in a tree and porch even if heir not real they might help ? or do some sort of trap for hem that they get shot with paint if they trespasse a certain point or like someone once mention here he does a fishline trough his prop and attach cans so it rattles loudly when they get trough the yard ?

i know even if it just bb guns i certainly wouldnt tolerate that and i would call the cops and ask for surveillance .....

we live in the country here and the police does do pass more often at halloween time and at halloween night we have firemans that does traffic in front of our haunt and watches things (and that is free ) the town seems to consider it fun so far and for the kids so they send us firefighters to do surveillance ....

That is HORRIBLE!

Not even counting the fact that they are messing up displays that people worked so hard on, the fact that they are SHOOTING towards people's houses... BBs and pellet guns can still put out an eye or kill an animal not even counting the damage to the house itself!

I'm surprised that the local law enforcement in your area doesn't do more to stop this sort of crap!
