Inside wise I start putting it up the very last week in August. Outside maybe the last week if not the the first week in october. This year will be my first big year with more exspensive props. I'll only be putting those out on Halloween night and taking them down right after. Everything else will be the cheap stuff. Sorry to here about your job. If they treat you like crap give them a good halloween scare and act like a crazy person. (that would really get them or do what I did, get them a cake and say "who's the bitch now." lol.

I have a website I never knew existed.

If I'm doing a party, it has to start in September. It's labor intensive (remove furniture, hang black plastic and assemble props). Outside October 1st.

Our party is indoors and out. I prob. won't start the outside set up until mid-September because we are letting my sister's mare loose in the yard now for extra grass (the pasture grass is low and she's nursing a mule foal), and the little ass already knocked over one of my coffins I had outside last week (I had it sittin on the table, finishing the staining and letting it age). As far as inside goes, we'll be prepping every weekend from now til 10/18. We're gutting my parents "formal" living room which has pretty much just been collecting junk, and converting it to the saloon - complete with bar, billards and poker tables. I'm prob. just gonna leave the floor as bare concrete with maybe some sawdust and peanut shells on it - not sure yet. Plus, just like spookalicious mama and others, we've always got to watch out for those darn hurricanes. In 2004 Charlie took my sister's roof off, complete with the ceiling fan and everything.

October 16th will be THe day I start setup.

I have started building the Pallet Shack. This weekend I will start on the cemetery, which means I will have to drag everything out of the shed. So officially this weekend things will start being put out into the yard.

Did I say that I have 3 yards to decorate, so I need to start early.

I start Labor day, I may do a little of the work on Labor Day eve this year. Depends on the weather of course. My friend and I will put up the fence it will be new this year, and my son will put up the tombstones on Labor day. The retail stores recognize Labor day as the end of summer so what a better day for me to recognize the start of Halloween!!!
