As a few of you know, I'm going to be converting my house into an old, haunted chapel and graveyard. The entire house will be covered in spanish moss and dark grey spider webs (never white).

At night, when the garage door is open, there will be a flying crank ghost with a black background inside. The problem is: I have no clue what to do with this huge stark white garage door during the day and late night when the door is closed.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do with this door that wouldn't clash with the chapel theme. I can paint anything on it by covering the door panels individually with plastic or fabric, I just have no ideas on WHAT to paint.

Here is a rude sketch of what I have planed. Even in a drawing, the door sticks out like a sore thumb.

Maybe a crypt or mausoleum - the 'drawer' kind. Photo reference (left side):

    A statuesque facade:

A horse carriage/stable entry/area -- painting of the back of a carriage like it's 'parked' there. Stables on either side of the carriage (hearse carriage).

Some wooden carts with hay inside. Like a Monty Python "Bring out cha' dead!" cart.

    Just a simple stone wall.

Not sure how old the chapel is supposed to look.

    I love the mausoleum idea!

I was going to suggest gothic arches and stained "glass" (either painted or using cloth with fusable webbing).

The stained glass also popped into my head at first, but I saw from his drawing he already had, what looks like real windows, going towards that, and I thought if you painted them on fabric, it'd look out of place with those.

Whatever is used, you absolutely must take hundreds of pictures. Anytime someone converts there house into something so elaborate, I get excited.

Thanks guys. Yeah, the original windows in the house will be covered with gothic stained glass. The 'stained glass' will actually be thin colored tissue paper glued to Plexiglas, and the windows will be back lit so they can be seen at night.

I love the mausoleum with the flowers on the "shelves". I may consider that. I also like the statues on the other pic. Might be time to try out my 'monster mud' skills and try a combination of both of those.......hmmmmm

Looking at your design and the style of the house I would think large double chapel doors. Then set real urns on either side of the doors to give it some depth.

I agree, look into a type of mausoleum wall would be a great choice.
