Hiya folks,
Thought I'd share some images of the Wells / Barkerville cemetary in Barkerville, British Columbia. Barkerville is a gold rush town founded in 1864 (I believe) in the interior "Caribou" region of BC.
Barkerville is named after Billy Barker who is also buried in this cemetery. His grave is included in the photos.
Sorry about the really warm colour cast, I haven't had time to correct the photos yet. I can't wait to see what they'll look like in Black & White or Sepia!

I hope they prove useful for anyone looking for referrence photos of old tombstones (although most here are made of wood). Keep in mind due to it's location and history, this cemetery is more like a Old West "Boot Hill" style of cemetery. I've also added a couple photos at the end from another cemetery we discovered in Clinton, BC during our trip.
Incidently, during my time in the cemetery, it started to thunder quite a bit in the nearby mountains! Very fitting if you ask me!
Anyway, enjoy folks!
(and please let me know if you have trouble using the link!)

These pics are just what I needed, thankx Shadow Man. The wooden tombstones will be the perfect touch for my ghost town cemetary.

Thanks all... I'm glad they're of use! :O)
I wish I could've spent longer there but with the family in tow (actually i was the one in tow), I was pushing the time limits as it was.
There's another cemetery I want to photograph soon. This one's located in Fort Langley, BC not so far from my home. It dates back to the birth of our Province. It's got some really old markers (these one's all stone) and the perfect wrought-iron fence around the perimeter. As soon as I have a chance to swing by there I will post the images of that one as well... There's some marvellous markers there and some amazing Victorian "heritage" homes nearby as well!
Stay tuned!"Look Honey, they have... uhm... 'Dead People' in the backyard!"
