And, I'm not talking about for a party, but just out for the general public.
And if so, does it get used?
Been kicking around the idea of making one. But, with in excess of 600 people expected on Halloween, I'm a little curious whether it will just become a bottle-neck and/or not get used at all.

It can have the advantage of giving people something to do while waiting their turn through the haunt. OR if you are going to do it after the haunt, then I might set out more than one.
I use guest books, not only for comments but also collect email addresses in case they want to be notified of the next years event. I go to Dollar Tree and buy the composition books, recover them in the theme of the haunt and place a sign and pen with instructions.
With 600 people, you should do it after, multiple books and a donation box stating that the proceeds will go to next years haunt improvements. You'll be surprised how many people with sign and donate.Spectorized

What a great idea - I'm stealing it if that's okay. Looks like another trip to the DT store. Now, I only need an idea to dress it up for my Tombstone theme party (hint hint).

Yep--I have a book for visitors to sign.
If I'm feeling playful I tell them they've just signed their souls away. Heh, heh.

Okay...tombstone for a guestbook....hummmmm. Cover in gray, velum, constuction paper what ever. Now come up with you favorite epitaph and mark the outside (computer printed in the font you like or go at it with markers). I ususally cover the outside and the inside of the cover. You can add what ever you like...I usually put instructions on the inside cover and add a black ribbon for a book marker so they can open it to the last page signed. As I said earlier in this or another the post, if it's a party I put a small cauldron with disposable camera's and instruct guests to take lots of pictures, leave an email address and the camera, and i will develop and send pictures. (Guests love this because they never have to worry about bringing and possibly losing a camera.)
People like to feel they are a part of something...so make them a part of your haunt!Spectorized

I also do a guest book on my web site only have a few replies there but its nice what people wrote. In regard to the above post....I do take pictures of my TOT's, its really time consuming but last year a lot of people thanked me for them. I post them all on the net in picturetrail & this way if there are relatives that do not live close by, like grandparents for instance, they can see their grandkids halloween picture.
I make the whole family get in the picture & the pictures were just great, everybody was in a halloween scene & they all had big smiles! Actually its more fun for me. I'm so busy on halloween night that I miss a lot. When the night is over & I start adding these on my computer, it really lets me see how much fun all these people had so I enjoy them more than anybody else!

We have one at the end of the haunt and people sign and tell us what they liked best. It is fun to read their feedback.

we have a guest book also. Its at the end , and last year we asked what area did they like best . we added up all the comments and votes and the person who got the most feedback who worked that area got a prize from us for doing a great job. We only had a few pages that said bla bla loves so and so ish type things. Our actors knew we would be counting comments and looked forward to trying to win the prize. ($10. giftcard)
