Thanks!

Don't worry about all the questions. I'm happy to answer them, that's why I posted in the first place! I wish I had had someone to ask questions of when I was working on mine! ;)

The turf can be bought at most hobby stores. I got mine from Hobbytown USA but also saw a nice selection at Hobby Lobby the other day. You can also order it online from Woodland Scenics.

Drylock is a concrete sealer that can be bought at Lowe's or Home Depot. You don't need much (I did this layout and a fake rock and have used about 1/8 of a gallon) so you could probably get by with the small container.

I used the Styrofoam Wonder Cutter (hot wire) to cut my pieces. That's also what made the edges look like that. I bought it at Michael's. It's normally $10 but I used a coupon and got it for $6! It works great but while working on my other layout I've found that I can't use it for everything. So I also bought the foam cutter that has a straight piece of thick wire for those harder cuts. It also came from Michael's and is $20 full price. I don't like it's results as well as the cheaper one but I have to use it for some cuts.

so you put the aluminum foil around all the styrafoam 1st, then dry lock it, then paint it with green, now is the green like a hunter green?, an did you just glue the moss on the mountains etc? i have alot of pieces about 12 not including figures etc, an im looking to put a road in. any tips for a road as well?

I used the aluminum foil to help fill in the gaps between the different levels of the mountain. I only had to do that because I used my existing two tier display and wanted to build up around it. So if you're not using anything like that you can skip the aluminum foil. You'll want to paper mache before putting the drylock on, though. I used a dark forest green paint...it was closest to the color of the turf I was going to put down.
I don't know about doing a road but here are links to the resources I used. I'm sure after looking through them you'll know what terms to google. I'd also suggest going to a hobby store and looking at the products available to you. There are all kinds of items for sale to create your landscape.

Wow!!! That is impressive! I didn't go into nearly that much detail last year. I used styrofoam that I painted with latex paint to seal and then covered it with moss glued on with spray adhesive. It looked pretty good, and wasn't nearly as complex as Rikki's.....but it didn't look nearly as cool as her's either.
