Rikki, that mirror is fabulous!!!! How appropriate that it left a ring of bats on the paper when you painted it! I just love haunting the thrift shops too. I might go to some again today. Sometimes I just go there to think -- I can spend a couple hours just looking at things and then trying to visualize a scene.

I too like the candelbra. Also, I'm exctied to see your mirrior when it comes out black. Great finds again. Rikki, your like the queen of Halloween shopping.

I hung the mirror against a white wall today and took a picture. You can see the bat shapes down the sides in this one.

The Grandin Road stuff is nice, but are they supporting a crack habit? It's the only thing that could explain the prices they want (especially for the wreath. $40? Get real).

I think the biggest rush is getting something for a good deal and revamping rather than just going out and paying a bundle for something pre made.

Did you decide whether to paint them black or use patina?
I got a lamp that looks like a candle stick at the flea market, I am going to use a flicker lightbulb in it--cost me a buck, it is dark like aged, I don't know if I will paint it or not.

Wow, your DIY mirror paint job turned out better than I imagined! I was curious as to how it would look, with the original colour. It's a huge improvement!
Those tall lantern candle holders are stunning! I'd love to have those.
