Ahhhh I finally get to brag about a score
We had decided a few weeks ago to do a skeletal organist for halloween this year.
Last week I was walking downtown and saw a 50 euro bill on the ground.
I looked around but there was no one around who could have just dropped it.
I also looked around for a camera to see if it was some sort of 'hidden camera' report on honesty lol
No cameras, no people....just 50 euros.
So I kept the 50 euros and treated a client (who I was downtown with) to coffee and crepes at an outdoor cafe. You know, that idea that if something good happens to you, you have to do something good in return. So, that cafe cost 10 euro. I had 40 left.
The next day I was bored and decided to go 'second hand store' hopping.
The first store I went to had an old organ for 40 euros. I figured it must be a sign so I called Pieter and asked him to meet me at the store. I figured it would be easier to dismantle a real organ for our prop than to build an organ from scratch (his original plan).
So this is the organ that we are going to use for our skeletal organist and it cost me NOTHING!
Any ideas for creeping it up for halloween are welcomeI want to put skulls on the knobs but not sure if I can find the right size here or not.

WOW.
Gorgeous condition.
I've been told I'm inheriting an old pump organ myself. Though it's in MUCH MUCH worse shape than this one. I'm torn between turning it into a great haunt item and donating it to a local museum that is interested in it.

WOW! That's so sweet! Congrats.
How much money is 50 euros in american money? Are you going to have something haunting playing the organ? I can just picture it now... a blucky with white/gray haird long with in a nice black coat and nice black top hat. red or black roses sitting in some kind of vase on top of the organ.
VERY COOL.
halloween is a super cool holiday.

gorgous organ!! I don't know how much I would change it, the organist will probably be spooky enough. with the blck roses, webs on it, etc. the skulls on the knobs would be good though, check oriental trading, i don't know how much shipping would be though, worth checking out, they have small skulls, anyway, great find!!
I have flying monkeys- and I'm not afraid to use them!

Your halloween angel is a good one. Give her a hug and kiss. What a great organ and I agree with Bethene. Since it is in such excellent condition, I think I would try to keep it original. Go with the skelly and all the decorations ...that will be just as effective and scary enough. I just love it when people have such great stories to tell. Enjoy your fab find !
