Awww, it's not that bad! This was you first attempt, right?
I think it looks pretty good to paint up as a zombie or goblin and it will look pretty good in the right lighting.
As long as it looks good from the audience's point of view, it's good.I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

I just think that's really neat! I'm really liking those ears! How did you start off? He needs some hair then he'll really be rockin.
halloween is a super cool holiday.

I love the goblin idea!! Put the head on a short, fat, body with loooong fingers and it'll look cool!

If You Want "Realistic"? –

All you basically have to do is to practise, look more closely at the human design. Subtle angles shift and make us look better instead of goofy (for most of us anyway, not all)
The darkness of a haunted application along with the sudden, quick glimpse also can make almost anything work to make someone jump, scream...
Maybe your head here is more cartoon-like but cartoons are scary to alot of people too.
I think you did pretty well on this effort, actually.
Are you going to paint it with several layers of latex now? Toughen it up.
I have built up foam board by gluing the layers together but in the center I would have a piece of sheet metal with points coming out of it numerous times to sink into the foam to actually physically secure it, then I would feature a 1/4" hole in the sheet metal at the bottom to bolt the head to whatever , a body, wall...?
I would cover the foam with Bondo to Really make it tougher and weather proof. (Notice I didn't say it was now "Idiot-Proof", that calls for thick steel and welds and bolts."My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

FLOAM!
Never used the stuff myself, but there's this bucket of it sitting next to me...taunting me...

thanks for the encouragement and tips... yes, this was my first attempt.. Im hoping to paint him, put a bone in his nose, some big earrings and use him as a TCT popping up from a cooking pot in a cannibal type setting. As a pop up the TOT's would only get a quick glimpse of his ugly-ness lol
Id like to make a couple of witch heads if I can get this process to work. Ugly or not at least they'd be original! LOL

Waaaaaaay better than I would have done, and I'm sure paint will make him look far more "realistic".
Great job for a first try!
