Does anyone send out a Halloween Letter instead of the usually accepted "Holiday Letter"? I've been thinking about it this year, along with cards instead of doing Christmas ones. I've never been a fan of Christmas, that's my husband's thing. But I thought this year instead of trying to do cards and all that on top of everything else (when it just seems like another chore to me) to try and do them when I'd actually enjoy it and do the whole business at Halloween instead. Anyone know if they sell boxes of Halloween cards?![]()

A small card with a Halloween image on it, a small piece of ribbon taped to the card then a sliver of soap on the other end of the ribbon and they find all of this on their window ledge after you have soaped their window! Happy Halloween!"

Malenkia, I've never seen boxes of Halloween cards but I'm sure you could make your own. With a bit of card stock and some goodies from the scrapbooking section of Walmart, Target, Kmart, etc. you can create unique cards even if you're craft challenged.
I would enjoy a Halloween letter - great idea!

I've purchased boxes of Halloween cards from Walmart and/or Target before. They were just simple bi-fold cards with a Halloween picture on the front and blank on the inside. They were pretty cheap, too. Of course, you could just make your own: this year I'll be sending out Pumpkin Carol songbooks to all our friends and family instead of cards.

DPBoy, I've never seen those boxes of cards before! Guess I'll have to check out Walmart.
I have several scrapbook decorations that would make great cards - our dollar store even sells blank cards to decorate from scratch.

I think the holiday letter at Halloween would be better than at Christmas. It's the time of year when everyone is starting to feel homey and everyone starts thinking of family.

I agree with you. Although we're busy around Halloween time too, I think the pace is different. I'm definitely more relaxed than I am during Christmastime so it's a better time to sit back and reflect on the past year. My friends and family wouldn't bat an eye (maybe just roll them) if they received a holiday letter from me with ghost and witch borders.

I send out "Halloween Cards" instead of holiday cards. What better way to kick off the holiday season?

I always liked sending Halloween cards instead of Christmas cards because its something different. Everybody and their grandma sends out Christmas cards. All of our friends and family know how nuts we are about Halloween anyway, so I think they really enjoy getting something original from us because we're different. And, after doing this for the last couple of years, we've even started getting Halloween cards back! I'm pretty sure all our old friends from college aren't sending Halloween cards to everybody, so its kind of nice to get something special from the people you miss.
