Hi all , i have not been around the forum as much and as often for the past few months , been busy in my gardens alot since spring started and have to be honnest and admit i have not been in a big halloween mood this year i dont know why , and i usually shop alot on the internet during the hole year for halloween but this year i only have pre ordered 2 gemmy life size .....
this week i was having a quiet lunch with my husband telling him this and he said it's ok if you want to skip a year , and i told him with the uge turn out last year how can i do that ? so that got me started looking at the halloween forum and i see all of you have been quit busy with awsome stuff and started to look at web stores and saw some are showing the halloween 2008 merchandise aleready and i now have a BIG to buy and to do list .....now have to figure a way to work some $ to buy all that stuff .....
so this year i was thinking if i can save up some $ enough that instead of web purchases it would be cool to travel and shop live as it isnt the same thrill and here in Quebec we have bearly nothing in stores even walmart as crap....i was wondering , since i am from Quebec province , what in the USA would be close to me to go shop to , i am close to the vermont usa border so lets say going to maine , or massachussets(sorry spelling) is 5-6 hours for me , so what in that direction is their to shop for halloween stuff ? micheals stores , spirit stores etc ???

I had that feeling the year before last. I felt like I was not going to do anything. Then last year my friend came over and we got everything going and this year we are already planning to do a few things different. New props in the makes. Already, like yourself, our budget is begining to look bad, but I do believe that its going to be great. I wish I could help you shop but since I live in Texas I don't think you'll be down here any time soon. But if you do bring some cold weather with you.

If you wanted to make a US shopping trip as so many from outside the US do. I would recommend the Philadelphia/ New York Region and post when you plan to travel. I am more than confident that local haunters would not only welcome you into their homes but also give up the skinny on the best places to shop. I personally am just south of philly and have an endless supply of seasonal stores. Party City, Halloween adventure, Spirit, Micheals, AC Moore, and Kmart does a nice stock up. That list doesnt include all the little stores that pop up the different dollar type stores that also stock. In my area within a 15 minute drive well I could not only go broke but visit a different store every night for the entire season. Extend that drive to the surrounding areas and well the possibilities are endless.

Slightlymad , i am now green with envy
how i would love to do that type of trip , been wanting to do one for so long , will have to see if budget allows it and also free time , starting july my husband works alot during the weekends ....and even with the high gas prices it probably will end up being cheaper then online purchases that are being shiped via couriers etc ....
your right that new york state isnt that far either from us new york is about 5 hours i think too .....any good stores maybe in albany ? plattsburg?
Blakkheart , i dont think i will go as far as Texas LOL but next winter if we get another ton of the white **** , oups sorry meant to say snow
i'll be thinking of you and might mail you some snow balls maybe ? hahahaha

Heck... go to Salem, Mass for Halloween... that'll get you in the spirit.
And go shopping there... I don't know about super stores, but the whole town gets REALLY involved, it's amazing.
