I think that's a GREAT idea!! I just love all the little bottles and things hanging from the ceiling. Are you going to do the character, too?

I'm doing a Tai Dalma room in front of my garage as part of my pirates theme. I bought a large gazebo on clearance. It has the appearance of wrought iron and has a black roof and screened in sides. I'm going to drape moss and other greenery on the outside, with my fireflies. The inside is going to be like the scene above.

It is going to be my TOT area. I don't like making the kids go up the stairs to the front door. I'm making the porch area my Davey Jones Locker. The stairs will be blocked off, but they will be able to view it.

I've been collecting glass jars and bottles in preparation. I also bought a large box of prop frogs from the movie Magnolia, through eBay. They are fantastic!

Neat idea. And I suspect it could be done very cheaply. Let us know what you come up with!

Also, I have a birdcage for my undead monkey. I also found a great bargain in some homemade glass floats on eBay. They are going for as low as 99 cents. They will look great hanging from the ceiling.

Default My Recent Purchase

There it was in the antique mall window!(around the corner from my house) A new stainless steel double-bladed ax (China) with dragons in the top of the blade.leather wrapped handle, brass ends on the top and bottom of the stailess shaft, seamless welding , blade to handle and the blade actually has an edge to it. Can anyone believe the price was $19.00!?
It's about 24 inches long with the blades spanning 15? inches?
I slid my hand up the shaft and promptly cut myself on the inwardly pointing blade(s)
I have now built a frame work to hold it in, the back of the frame is covered with vynl that is green with a reptile scale pattern.
I was going to put plexiglass over this ax...but then realised this would make much less potentially scary. It will be very perminently affixed to the frame, the frame to the wall behind it.
What will it be "doing" in my new Victorian bedroom?
It will move, just alittle, only at the right moment for maximum efect.
The old Dragon slayer ax just can't ever calm down and become a piece of steel, still too much "Wanna-Fight" left in it!
Pardon me for asking Madame, but is that your dragon parked on the roof? It's upsetting Mr. Ax.

i think pirates are cool, but i'm more into the voodoo/super natural aspect and i think that it would be really cool and easy to make. i may do the costume and try to find some old gowns at good will to piece together...sad to say, i haven't dressed up in years because i've gained so much weight from having a child and i can't find anything that fits me or that i'm comfortable in, but this year i want to dress up again!
