This is probably off-topic, but I'm going to add to this thread anyway. George Carlin was one of my all-time favorite comedians. I was devastated to hear this news this morning. He was a BRILLIANT comedian and insanely talented!! He will be sorely missed! God bless you George (even though those of us who are really familiar with you know that you don't believe in God.) RIP

    Ditto!**********
Linus: You've heard about fury and a woman scorned?
Charlie Brown: Yes, I guess I have.
Linus: Well that is nothing compared to the fury of a woman who has been cheated out of tricks or treats!

George's way of looking at the world was as unique as his way of presenting his views to us. I didn't always agree with him, but I always laughed. I will miss his style and opinions - his over use of unnecessary expletives, not so much. Yet without their shock value, maybe the message wouldn't have been the same.

    Regardless, he will be missed.

My daughter phoned up very sad..she remembered him as the host of Thomas the Tank...
    I dig that..
If you only have time for one album...check out CLASS CLOWN..
Most of his concert videos hold up and you can't go wrong with any..
He did the casino circuit neary continously in the last decade and a friend told me he had a rider in the contract that there would be an ambulance nearby just in case he needed it..he had always had a bum ticker and it was what took him out in the end...
His biggest influence was a guy named Lenny Bruce who was essentially run out of town on a rail for using 'bad words' and talking about how weird society could be...George was funnier and made more money and shows you how far a society can come when it wants to...SEVEN WORDS YOU CAN'T SAY ON TELEVISION is a classic now...

I first started listening to Carlin a lot younger than I should have. My dad had some of his old albums on Vynyl and I would get them out and give them a spin. I have several of his books that are great. And I was fortunate enough to get to see him in person a few years back. Probably my favorite comedian ever. RIP George.

RIP George Carlin... He was my #1 favorite comic and will surely be missed.

It always makes me laugh to think of him on a children's TV show.

George has been a staple of quality entertainment in our household for years, no one else can ever share his caliber of comedic talent. Last night and this morning we watched several of his performances in rememberance of the greatest. The world will miss you, man!

Another one of the GREATS is taken from us. RIP. Funny when you get to the point when life stops giving you things. And starts taking them. I heard that somewhere. Funny how true it is...
