By special request a local 8 yr. old girl and her babysitter were here for their first time today.
The 8 yr. old is quite full of it! Her energy showed in the screams she gave several times during the tour. Laughter was following those screams so everything was fine.
In the dark front room I tell them I am dead, then slowly shuffle toward them, dragging my feet for full effect.
I use a slow predictable steps, pause, wait, wait somemore, then shuffle, pause, THEN a series of very quick shuffles!!!
They both screamed So loudly!!!
Hysterical!

The babysitter refused to go certain places in the house..because if she did...she said she would lose her "Chicken" permit!
"Oops! inviolation of permit, permit revoked!"

Gym....I really can't wait till I get home to make a trip to your house........I know your tours are amazing!

I recently got an e-mail from a very well-known Tv show wanting to do a show on "Halloween Tech.' They saw that Hauntworld mag. had declared my place one of the 13 best (a few years ago) "best"," because it is so different"!
Being "different" doesn't necesarrily mean I have anything like "High Tech" here at all, and I really don't!
A very large number of pure-home haunters have tons of more tech stuff in their home haunts than I will ever have here, I just make the absolute best use , dramatically,of what I have to work with, which takes more time and energy than just setting off automatic props.
Taking the needed time to set-up the scare with a storyline and a certain amount of time for anticipation also makes things happen correctly here inspiring more memories and sometimes real fear.
Maybe I sound convincing because the storyline is true?
It is a "Haunted", haunted house with quite a supernatural history spanning many, many years.
I have never made up any of the stories I tell people, but I can tell them in various styles, trying to suit the group looking at me.
My wife still will laugh about the night last winter when a serious ghost group was here and they wanted me to tell the haunted history seriously , with no humor(as I usually do so as not to terrorize some people)........"and on such a night as this, the way things have been happening in this house, if you listen very closely, you might almost be able to hear the spirits whispering to each other...."
Then I farted! "It's the spirit of my lunchtime Taco!"
(Usually I blame the audience for the gass-attacks, "You were That scared, huh?")
Be sure and give me a warning when you think you might be here Muffy so I won't have any Tacos that day. Chili, I'll have that instead!

Chili????Oh I guess we will be in for a real treat than ...huh?
