Yesterday, my hubby bought me ( wasn't that sweet!!) a male torso manniquin. it is made out of some kind of heavy cardboard type of material with a covering of cloth, no arms, My question is, is there any way to use it to make more with out wreaking it? Had anyone used the duck tape dummy type of thing? If so, how thick does it need to be! Or, do you think it's work to mache over, It's really awesome to have, but would like to be able to make more!!

I would imagine so. Maybe use some plastic wrap and Vaseline.

Detroit Grass, thank you for the site, wow he does some really intense, cool stuff, the one where he too plastic and casted could be modified for mache I would think, thanks you so much!!

Some people use petroleum jelly. I takes forever to wash out of your hair for lifecasting, but I don't thing your subject will complain.

Bethene I used aluminum foil to cover the pumpkin I used as the armature to form Morti. If you cover the mannequin with foil and do just two or three layers of paper mache' strips you can cut the mache' off the mannequin and it should hold it's shape enough (depending on your glue formula) to finish it with Celluclay. When I started Morti I made the mistake of putting too many layers of paper strips on with a really hard-drying glue formula. It was a bugger to cut off but I just kept working at it slowly with a sharp exacto knife and eventually worked my way through the layers.

rnrkid, no, I',m thinking he won't mind!!
MT, I will use your foil idea, and make some mache and , but not go all the way around, but just front and back, it should , hopefully, slip off. and then I can finish it better when putting the body together, thanks!I have flying monkeys- and I'm not afraid to use them!
