May31st. We got some calls ," Yes we are going to be open at 2 to 5 and again from 7 to 12 midnight".
A young couple were examining the outside of the house. they were in town to place flowers on his Grandmother's grave. (I had just been up there in the graveyard with my Mother and Brother putting flowers on my Dad's grave)
"Who is your Grandmother?"
I had known all of his Mount Carroll family members very well they just lived two blocks from me for 20 years!
I told him little funny things about his Grandfather (who had died before he was born) and his Mother (1 yr. behind me in school) and his silly uncle who I accidently banked a piece of old plaster off the side of his head once when we were kids(he bled alot!) My first car had been his Granfather's 1959 Ford, but the real "kicker" was when after he said that he had been wanting to go through my house ever since he was a little kid, I then told him how every time I am telling the haunted history of the house that I mention his Mother.
Six years ago a psychis told me many strange things about this house, one such statement was that a piano used to be in the northeast corner of the living room.
I was later to randomly find four people who had been taking piano lessons during the 1950's and 60's in this room and each one told me that the piano had been right where the psychic said it was, his Mother was one of them.
They had fun here (as does the huge majority) He was pretty quick and jumpy but these reflexes may serve him well as he is on his way to becoming a Marine officer, just like his Uncle had been.
His female friend was laughing at his expressions of fear, but after each time I made a point to tell him about the haunted house owners that have screamed and thrown themselves right down on the floor on their butts in the same location! (Trying to escape the "Monster"..me.)

Sounds like that guy's day turned out to be a LOT different than he had pictured upon waking up yesterday morning......quick reflexes are good, but he better toughen up a bit before becoming a Marine, hehehe. I agree with Scare Shack, I would LOVE to have the chance to come tour your haunt!

This Last Weekend -contin. –

This happened Friday night and Saturday night. I have a regular routine I do but then it gets late, I've had a few groups and someone comes here who has been here numerous times and we just begin talking about the house, funny past customers, supernatural experiences of theirs and pretty soon several hours have passed and we are still in the first room!
I then begin to wonder if there may be any paralells between what I am doing and what some old crazed geeser is doing locked away somewhere?
The longer they talk, the more strange stuff they tell you the more you are convinced this may be a bit entertaining but ..this guy is really pretty far gone!
Things out of the ordinary have always found a home in my mind, it beats being the local small-town, small-minded gossip talking about the petty human failings that are all too common and really not that noteworthy, I guess?
Some of my customers have been coming here for 15 to 20 years begining when they were small children, isn't that something?
I love it when a petite, young woman says:"I have been coming here since I was a little kid."
Then I say, "You mean last month?"
"We drove 100 miles to get here!"
"Was that driving 100 miles straight up or straight down?" (looks like the "Devil-Mobile" parked over there with it's huge auger nose and steaming clay dripping from everything.)"My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"
