I am sure most of you know I do a couple of haunts at campgrounds. The "theme" so to speak is classic monsters. I am doing a walk through cemetary- hopefully - depending on the site configuration. I will have a werewolf, vampire, witch coven(3 or 4). I wanted to do a lab with Dr. Fankenstein and the monster, but the canopy is 12 by 12, too large for every thing else I want,
The question is, is there a sturdy way to make a smaller covered "room" or what ever you want to call it, I want to try to keep a space open in the front of the RV for it., to make a smaller , possible walk through lab. Any help or new ideas would be very appreciated.
Also, I say a spider web at a couple of houses last year that were like a triangle, and huge, 8 or 10 feet long, from corners of houses to the ground, I didn't see any in the stores last year, any one see them any where?
Thanks!!!![]()

The spider web I used last year for Aragog was 6 or 8 feet, I can't remember which, and I got it at Micheal's for less than $10.

Bethene, for last year's haunt at the campground I made a PVC frame and covered it with a tarp. The inside of the tarp is black and the outside is silver. I made a facade out of 1.5" foam. Here are a couple pictures:

What about one of those folding tent frames that has the canvas top and the screens on the sides? The ones people put in their back yards during the summer.
You could use scene setters to cover the screens so the TOTs couldn't see through.
I think I saw those giant spider webs for sale at the SPIRIT Halloween store.

Bethene, wal mart sells 10x10 pop up canopies for peanuts. You could easily add sides to them.
The EZ UP brand is great, but it isn't the cheapest one they offer. The cheap one has legs that are not as thick... but oddly, the cheap ones go up soooo easy. But they come down in heavy rains, too. :-)
Or even a greenhouse for 200 bucks... Walmart.com: King Canopy 10 x 10 Greenhouse: Lawn & Garden Supplies

Every fall I erect one of those 20 by 10 car canopys that you can buy from $65 on up.
I am putting it in a parking lot beside my house so I save empty plastic buckets kitty litter comes in, fill them with rocks and duct tape them to the canpy legs.
Anything light you erect could blow over on to someone or their car and cause real damage.
Fall can be very gusty around here in Northwestern Illinois."My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

I have a 12x12 canopy, but think it is too big, on top of the other things in the haunt
JonhF3, that is a great facade, isn't it hard to carry in the RV? I already have so many props and boxs of things, Does it tear down good? And quick, only have a day or so to set up every thing.
Were the big webs you'all saw round, or trangular, like from a corner of the room? I have a large circular one, but think the ones that look like from a corner look great, different. I may have to knock on these folks doors, and ask!
Thanks all!!I have flying monkeys- and I'm not afraid to use them!

Hey, Gym, fall can be pretty windy here too, I am concerned with the thing blowing over if I made it.

I just wanted to sneak in here & say thanks to Gym. I'm working on a project for my driveway for 2009 & was trying to figure out how to make sure these props don't fall over. I never thought about using those kitty litter containers. I buy a 35lber ever month. Thats a good idea there Gym!

I just wanted to sneak in here & thank Gym. I'm working on a project for 2009 and I kept trying to figure out how to get these props so that no one would knock them over. I buy a 35lber kitty litter in the pail every month...never thought about using it, filled w/ rocks, to keep things in place. Thanks for that idea Gym.
