I'm mostly a lurker, but just HAD to post some photos I took this weekend while we were camping in Idyllwild CA. I never did get a chance to go talk to the people there, my daughter and I walked by every morning before they opened. But their wood carvings were absolutely incredible! The gargoyle gate posts are carved out of a huge block of wood...even the rock section.
They've really developed their display since I was there 2 years ago.
<edit> rats...I'm trying to get the photos in my album to display...![]()

Okay...I've got them in my album on the forum...how do I insert them in this msg? sheesh!
I tried doing the link photo on the edit toolbar and copied the url from the photo in the album, but that wouldn't display the photos. I must be missing something obvious!
Well, I can't figure out how to insert an album photo into a msg, but here's the link to their website. I hope they update the site soon with some of their Halloween stuff!

Yeah, ALL wood! They were just beautiful. We didn't go up there last year, and two years ago the gargoyles were just being worked on. He's done a lot of stuff since then. It says on the website that they don't have a retail store, it's all custom stuff. I suspect that they're all out of my budget unfortunately! Beautiful stuff.
As soon as I saw their display this year I knew I had to post some photos to the forum!

Thanks for the great pics, haunted dogs! There's a guy here that carves wood, mostly bears and eagles, of course I'm in Idaho. Next time I see him I'm going to stop and ask if he'd do a gargoyle.
They chopped down some trees to about 6 foot tall in front of The Idaho Pizza Company and he carved them into bears clinging to the top of the tree.

there's a guy here who carves characters into tree trunks. he did an eagle next door to our house in rockford. and he did a coyote sitting by a cactus a couple of blocks down from the gas station.
haunted dog, those are awesome. how big is that house? i take it even the tombstones he did out of wood?
