The last room of a haunt is usually the scariest. What is the scariest last room you have ever been in?

I haven't seen it in person, but a haunt I saw on the net had the front grill and headlights from an old truck rigged up to an overhead track. When triggered, the headlights would turn on, the horn would start blasting, and a soundtrack with engine revving noises would play. After a few seconds, the truck would move down a dark hallway toward the TOTs. Just before the truck reached them, a door behind them would open and give them an escape route. If I had the space, I would HAVE to do that.

That sounds freaking AWESOME, Rookie!! Oh man, a room like that would totally play off of one of my biggest creep-out factors, seeing headlights facing toward me at night, oh my God, that's so scary!! And with the horn effects too?? YEEEAAAAH. Those people put together a great idea.

These are some of the features from the last rooms in each haunt of Netherworld in Marietta....

40 foot long spinning tunnel, a bottomless pit, the EARTHQUAKE, a sword swinging Headless Horseman, gigantic attacking monsters......

This year Primal Fear will occupy the dark chambers below NETHERWORLD Haunted House. In Primal Fear guests will enter nightmares ripped from the deepest recesses of your mind!
Expect swarming insects, mechanized death, claustrophobia, darkness, blood, and that’s only the beginning!

Do you have a basement? I'm sure any of the above ideas would work quite nicely for a last room in one of those..

JESUS, Laurie!!! I have GOT to find a way to make it to that event this year. That sounds like something that would really upset me if I missed it. And it's not that long of a drive.

Good grief! The haunts you guys have been to make the stuff up here look like childs play. lol

This creeped me out the most so far: It was a small shed converted to look like a tiny church. You went in and were told to sit down on a bench while you were to witness an exorcism. The actors were AWESOME! The "priest" read the girl her rights as she was tied to a chair. The whole building shook and then she broke loose and started coming at you. I couldn't get out of the building fast enough! Man the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up. CREEPY!

OOOOHHHHH!!! That sounds awesome. I've been looking for some ideas for turning my garage into a part of the chapel. I was thinking of putting on a funeral scene with chairs, an alter, an open coffin with a corpse, flickering candelabras, etc, but that idea sounds WAY more fun.

All...very awesome ideas!!! I love the church ideas, but I live in Mississippi and anything like that would probably not go over too well. I would LOVE to do the exorcism bit!!
I should have told you that my haunt is an outdoor haunt so maybe that will help with the ideas.
So far, I have had great success with the final room involving a chainsaw but this year I'd like to switch things up and put him towards the middle of the trail.
The oncoming car or truck MAY be a possibility and there is great "how to" for that effect in 'The Complete Haunted House Book" by Tim Harkleroad.
The bottomless pit idea sounds great!! Where can I get the plans or design for that?

    Showing my age here...

Aliens had just come out. The place had a PERFECT recreation of the place. You're on a catwalk, areas where the acid had eaten through, all kinds of piping running everywhere, fog machines blasting in places, those yellow lights swirling overhead, empty egg cases.

2 marines stood there with guns yelling at you to get out of there, and one was pulled away screaming. We're walking through, marine yelling to run, and this alien that looked like a part of the pipe comes out of the wall and makes that dang sound right next to me...

This is THE ONLY time I have ever literally RAN out of a place. Not just the jogging to be a good sport, but scared and not stopping till I hit the car. Really too bad they closed that place down...(someone tripped and fell running out, got sued, bye bye.)

LMAO! Your story is great! Kudos to that haunt.

    That sucks about the lawsuit.
