It was slow today at work because of bad weather so I decided to age a new Bucky that I got in. While I was working on my Bucky I totally spaced out... it was almost Zen like. It was very relaxing....of course I do run a smokeshop...he,he.

Is prop making therapeutic to anyone else?

When I was maybe 10 yrs.old I was reading a comic book in a soda shop, I would have bet a million dollars that I had only been looking at that comic for no more than 10 minutes , yet my watch told me 3 hours had passed!
Could I have been abducted by the UFOers right out of the building, infront of people in broad daylight?
It was amazing, time passing like that. It made me push away from the TV because my actual, real life was found to be "finite" and passing me by.

Prop making is relaxing to me, but where I used to really lose myself was in practicing and performing classical music (violin/viola). You really can loose yourself in music....especially when you are sitting in the middle of a symphony orchestra and the music just comes together the way the composer envisioned. The notes meld with each other....you feel the vibrations move through your body and soon you forget everything else. It's magic! And believe it or not... I have never smoked!

Yes, you have to FEEL the music. It's not just classical music, though. All music can be felt. And it goes hand in hand with prop building for me. Music HAS to be playing whenever I'm working the prop to get myself in the proper place. For me, that's become a mixture of Djembe and Taiko music. Then let that flow into whatever I'm sculpting.

A man after my own heart...even if the music selection is different the concept is the same. Music is a universal language.

According to a nurse from NY that ran a brain scan machine.
At very high flashes of light many say they hear "music".
    Eyes and ears connected?
"Go towards the light! Go towards the light! Hear the music too?"
Maybe all life as we know it is traveling across space on a beam, sort of like infared, at the speed of light, of course.
Then there are those musical properties that "Do" certain things to our minds and emotions..
All them, thare angels singing at high speed...

Voodoo - I can relate. I'm an illustrator, and when I'm focused on a piece the day goes by in an instant. Unfortunately if its a subject I'm not as interested in the day can drag by!
