How could I be so stupid?? Why am I alway in a rush!! I was working on three projects this past weekend. One my Bella Lugosi Portrate. Two cleaning and painting all my silver ware for Halloween party this year. Three finish the mirror frame I started last year. And oh I was painting a wood stain on my deck in the back yard. I was rotating. Work on this one then that one, then back to that one. Any way Everything was was going great. All silver is clean and some table accents have been sprayed silver. My mirror frame now only needs the distressed mirror put in. The Deck is finished. But my poor Bella. My master!!. I had a picture of him blowen up by a friend to 48 x 24 looked great. Glue him to a large piece of Blue board. It was the onlyl thing I had large enough and I did not want to spend any more money then i had to. Glued him down great. Put a coat of mod pog ( or what ever it is called) on to make it look like it was painted. Was looking good. Well I put a second coat on . I guess the first coat was not dry. But when I checked on him later in the day. He had white glue like spots all over. They looked like a translusent smudge. I let it dry for two more days. A little improvment. I am buildling a frame around him so I started on that. I put some boarder wall paper around the picture and mitered it. It has swirls and such on it. I want the frame to look old world and thick. I will paint it black and then hit it with a deep blood red to bring out the design work. I was looking at the black paint and looking at the picture. then back at the black paint.
Yes, Since the portrate is 90% black and black paint should cover white spots. I did it. It doesn't look bad. However it is not dry. God Please someone say a prayer. I have come too far to turn back now.

"I really meant to have it turn out this way."
There. All fixed! Wasn't that easy!
Just never make the mistake of telling someone else what it supposed to be or look like before it's done, this keeps you looking So Smart!
"Yes, I meant to make that brown smelly stain in my pants, I Really did!"-Doesn't EVER cut it!"My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

Consider the prayers prayed. Hey, one good thing about the kind of work we do...sometimes the more screwed up it is, the better it turns out looking!!
Good luck!!

This is true. However we are our own critics. I must meet my own approval first. Sometimes mine is too high. Am working on that. I check on Bella 6:00 am. in my skull night shirt. He was looking good. Will get a pic as soon as he is completely dry. That sacrifice of my first born must be working.

I know what you mean. Last year while planing my halloween party my husband asked me to help put some wood into our burn pit. 4 x 4 fence post with concrete on bottum. Heavy sucker. We tossed fence post. Fence post came down on my ankel. Pain shot up leg and hit brain. Was very unpleasent. Could not stand very long or walk too good. Props stayed locked up in my head. worst halloween I ever had. (Fence post still has not been burned.) I wonder?? did husband plan this????

Well here is the results

Can you tell I have painted in the black?? I am not finished of course. I need to add the outside frame and beef up the sides. then paint the frame black and go over it with deep red. I will also age the crest below and add that to the bottum of frame. Hope to get it done this week end. But with mothers day getting in the way I am not sure.
Here is the crest that will hang at the bottum of portrait
This is my mirror frame. I have to get a distressed mirror for it

I think your prop looks pretty good.

Skullie, that picture rocks!! You've done an excellent job. If I hadn't heard the story of the original problem, I'd never know. Bella looks just as gorgeous as ever!!! When the frame is finished, it will be beautiful...good work.

A "Bella" bed sheet on the bed could scare someone just walking into the room.
when I was a kid I saved my pennies and bought a $2.98 life-sized Zacherly poster, it scard me often as I had put it on the basement door.
The photo's backround looked like a real movie screen white with little sparkles in it."My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"
