I am on cloud 9! The Phobia Haunted Houses were open tonight - one night only for the Hauntcon here in Houston, and it did not disappoint. They had a full crew of actors for 3 houses, and a sneak preview of a new house to open this October called Claustrophobia (great to see the behind the scenes development - and had people to answer any questions).

The 3 fully staffed houses were 3D Clown Phobia (clowns and 3D glasses - best one!), The Darke Institute (typical gore stuff, but good), and Mind Control (asylum - very creepy).

There were roving crazies: one clown on stilts that was amazingly agile and snuck up on patrons leaving (and scaring the crap out of them) and one lovely clown girl with an awesome wig had a Burmese python named Hansel (she let us pet him) - oh, and a gloriously f-ed up guy in a nurse's uniform and blood spatter...

The houses were amazing. I've been there before, but they change up each attraction every year or so, so there is always new stuff and the actors are ALWAYS in character and great - even in APRIL they were fantastic!!

There were even some "virgins" there and they went through one of the houses with us - I was in the lead, and we kind of kept an eye on them, as some of the halls were pitch black and they got panicky.

I had a BLAST... and can only hope that this will hold me until September.

Frankie's girl, Thank You so Much for posting about this! I went on their website for ideas as we are doing 'Face Your Fears' as our theme this year.
