I just found out that this convention is in Houston, Texas! The really cool thing is that they are having some of the professional haunted houses open for touring - both lights off with full actors and lights on too!
I'm checking to see if you have to be a registered attendee, but if not, my DH and I are going to go to a haunted house (it's actually 4 attractions in one location) in April!!
*fingers crossed*
Anyone ever attend one of these conventions? I'm debating about going to the event itself, but most of the stuff is for professional level haunters, which I am no where near that level.

I think it's like one of those huge walkthroughs that last about an hour. If so I've been to a few of them. They somtimes say it's four things when it's just one. If I'm wrong I would go anyway. Always worth it for a good scare!
It's Halloween! It's Halloween! The moon is full and bright. We will see what can't be seen on any other night.

I'm in corpus and was planning on going, but my hearse is down right now and haven't gotten around to fixing it. Guess I could still go, but I'd be driving my dually truck and I'm not as hyped as I was---the website really didn't impress me enough to want to spend the money to drive there with gas being $3.40 a gallon.

Nope. It's a haunt that I've gone to in the past, and it's most definitely 4 completely different haunted houses http://www.darke.com/I think it's like one of those huge walkthroughs that last about an hour. They are fantastic and one of the coolest in the city. I haven't actually been through the two newest, and apparently they are opening a new one for this Halloween and this tour includes a sneak peak of it.
This haunt is like 10 minutes distance of my house. I am not sure about the actual convention, since it is down south pretty far - and like stonegate said, gas is pretty darn expensive for the drive down there.I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

I would go to the haunt but if the convention is more then 4 hours drive away I wouldn't bother. I went to one that was about 3 hours away from my house. It was well worth the drive!

I'm gonna be at the convention, just FYI this is for pro-level haunters and home haunters

It's in the South side of town, near the Astrodome. For me, it's about an hour drive, but I don't think I'll be attending as I'm not a professional level haunter.
Still going to the haunted houses, tho!

There are many home haunters that come to HauntCon. There are a lot of good classes to take as well as some make-and-takes. If you come, stop by the Midwest Haunters Convention booth and say hi.
