    Debate between hubby and me

This year we're doing Peanuts for the little kids...we're discussing what to do next year...this is the question...

    Peter Pan or Sleepy Hallow?

We know that all the kids would know Peter Pan but Sleepy Hallow is not as well known by todays children but would be more fitting for Halloween.

    What do you all think?

i think sleepy hollow would be more fun for the adults looking at them in costume, but that Peter Pan would be more fun for the kids themselves.

I agree. Kids wouldn't have a clue about Sleepy Hallow, and may also get disturbed by the whole "headless" part. Peter Pan, however, would just set them off, I think.

I like the Tim Burton Sleepy Hallow. I little fear is healthy. Big fear is a riot.

Revive Sleepy Hollow! It can be done easily without becoming unsuitable for the kids, and it deserves be as timeless as Peter Pan. Ichabod is a great character for the little ones.

I like the Burton re-imagining myself, but I'd go back to the original Legend and start fresh.

If the kids don't know Sleepy Hollow...

...perhaps it is time to introduce them

Must be very little kids, 'cuz all the kids I know know Sleepy Hallow, but then again, living in the land of The Mouse helps!

Pirates are still going strong but are on the wain, so I would go with the Peter Pan theme to ride out that wave. Then do Sleepy Hallow next year. The kids will be older and they do need to learn the story!

Well, they are both classics. Peter Pan has numerous characters, and several "scary" scenes, all of which makes it easier to set up interesting haunt tableaux.

But I am very partial to Sleepy Hollow, even if it's a two-character, one scene thrill. I can't decide what to recommend.
