This year, our little trail will be going from the front, through one gate, around back, and out the gate on the far side.
Now, this is all great and good, but the swings and the trampoline really don't fit in well.
Ideally, I'll find some camo to cover them, barring that, does anyone have any good, cheaper, ideas to hide them, or any experience with similar?. (tearing them down not an option, and putting little skeleton children to play on them is not really fitting the theme)

an indiana jones theme! awesome. could you cover the swing set in a way that it looks like a giant train. you could have monsters sitting on the swings so its looking like they're looking out the trains windows. you could have a figure on top of the train hanging on. the trampoline made to look like it is a parachute with a monster standing by trying to get out of the jacket and some voodoo zombie closing in on him.

Well, Temple of Doom is a large part of the inspiration, and we're hoping the new movie gives us more.
More just general voodoo/mayan/aztec/incan jumbled up, mixed with some personal experiences, and mashed into a single "theme". I haven't really put a name to it.

Camouflage! Get some of that netting and drape it all over the swing set. If you don't want the swings hanging down, twirl them around that top bar until they are pretty much stuck up there for the evening.
Flip the trampoline over, cover the center of it was the netting. Wrap the legs with some decayed fabric or woody-type fabric (bamboo?) and put some skulls up there. You could also attempt to make the center of the trampoline a bottomless pit."He has my father's eyes."
"Gomez, take those out of his mouth!"

What kind of swingset? If it's wood, I'd work on making it look like a cage (I guess it would work for an old-style one as well) get some bamboo and tie on as bars with some heavy twine... and put the netting around the things like the slide and such. Lots of things you could put inside there, and it would be in keeping with the theme.
I could see using burlap or tarp to create a mountain out of the trampoline - just brainstorming, but you could make a cone shape out of bamboo or something and anchor to the trampoline, then cover with tarp (use spray paint to make it look more mountain-y) and maybe even have a fogger inside with a vent hole at the top so it's kind of an active volcano? Oh, you could do some red lights in there too!
Or you could just put up bamboo supports with the heads impaled on them and hang the netting or tarp as a screen in between them making a long corridor, and it could also work as a wall to keep the kiddies on the right trail... that would be the quick and easy way.I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

No wood, old school aluminum a frame with a chair swing, 2 normal swings, a sawhorse type thing, and a slide.
Great ideas, folks. Feeling like I should have thought of some myself, but keep em coming!

Put some skelletons on the swings wrapped with stretch webbing, cover more of the swingset with stretchwebbing and add a giant spider. That should scare the little nippers!

To help the web stick where you need it use the sticky backed hook side velcro dots.
