Dionicia,
Last year's Halloween was a great success (somewhere on this forum I posted pictures). The five days leading up to Halloween we average around 250 visitors (one night, over 500 visitors). Halloween night we estimated over 5000 visitors and +600 ToT. And made the local news and newspapers.
This year we're going to go back to the basics of Halloween; witches, pumpkins, skeletons and ghosts in a cemetery setting. Everything will be black and orange.
The cool thing about this year, we will have two flying witches and I mean flying witches. We're currently working on the how to control them remotely, in the air, via computer.
I will have two singing quartets; a set of skeletons playing cards on a tombstone and singing “skeletons in closet”, and another quartet with musical instruments playing and singing Oingo Boingo “Deadman's Party”. The whole presentation will be about 9 minutes. And yes, we will have a hearse once again with some pretty interesting special effects - more about that later.
We're also helping out a haunted house that has been running for 20 years with these past three years seeing a drastic decline of visitors. We're currently building about 10 major props to include a jumping spider - 6' in length, crashing car illusion with headlights coming toward the audience, the screaming widow, the holy unrest skeleton (very bloody), and my favorite - the falling rocks. We’re also going to add some misc. effects that should make it all that better (FCG, floating lanterns, spider / insect hall) And were adding a theme to the haunted house – The Curse of the Mummy’s Mom. Typically, his haunt with a lot of static displays and teenagers dressed in costumes jumping out of dark corners scaring the visitors. But at one time, he averaged over 15,000 visitors.
I thought I was going to take a break this year, but unfortunately, my WIFE, neighbors, friends, partners, and the city has pretty much said no – and telling me, “it will happen.” In fact, the city has even offered its servces - WOW.
I must confess, last year I was really burned out and wanted no more for a while. But all that has changed and I am really looking forward to this year’s Halloween - which is in full swing. Going to be the best one yet!!!

Wow GG, when the city gets in your face and tells you, "You will build a Halloween set up and you will like it"...It's time to break out the bottom lip and say, "Fine, I will take your services! I need a valet for the next year."
I'm glad you're feeling better and back in the Halloween spirit.
