Favorite books: I am a speed reader, and I have too many to list. I go through about 5-8 books a week when I actually read after work. Mystery and crime (noir) are my favorite genres. Favorite authors: Agatha Christie, Nagio Marsh, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, P.D. James, Edgar Allan Poe, Raymond Chandler, Lawrence Block, Dashiell Hammett... I read "bubblegum" stuff like chick lit when I'm bored, and need something light to "cleanse the palette"

Favorite movies: Yikes! Same thing. DH and I have a collection of over a thousand movies, and most of my favs were from way before my time. Off the top of my head: Metropolis, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Mummy, Murder By Death (probably one of my top fave comedies), House on Haunted Hill (the original and the remake), HellBoy, Casablanca, North By Northwest, Rear Window, Rope, Monty Python's The Life of Brian, Holy Grail and Meaning of Life, Hot Fuzz, Shawn of the Dead, Identity, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.... and I'm not ashamed to admit that Beerfest cracked me up! (okay, just a little ashamed!)

Music: Again, scary huge collection and Dh and I have something from EVERY genre of music out there. I'm currently listening to the Horrorpops, Necromantix and Tiger Army with a splash of the Misfits. I also listen to David Bowie, Hank III, Patsy Cline, T-Rex, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Marylin Manson, the Black Crowes, The Beatles, The Beastie Boys, Devo, Duran Duran, The Cure, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Louie Prima/Keely Smith, Charlie Parker, Vivaldi, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr., etc... sometimes all of this mashed up in the same day. There is PLENTY more than that, but it's all I could think of right off the bat. It's all good!

Frankie's Girl, I know how you feel! With movies and books there are tons of "runner ups" but a definite favorite in each category. Music though is much harder because of all the different stuff I listen to (from your list it sounds like we have very similar tastes).

My playlist currently consists of Amy Winehouse, Foo Fighters, Suzie McNeil, Chris Cornell, The Toadies, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ledbelly, Clutch, Bob Marley, Citizen Cope, Black Crowes, The Distillers, Michael Andrews, Cheap Trick, Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, AC/DC, Storm Large, The Allman Brothers, Tito & Tarantula, 311, Hank Williams Sr., Dwight Yokam, David Bowie, Sublime, Bouncing Souls, and I'm not even half way through!
