I am in the planning stages for making 3 axis skulls and I am curious of the different types of skulls to use.
What is the difference between the skulls, what is considered the best type of skull to use for 3-axis skulls, and where can folks get the best deal to buy skulls.

Good question. I cant really answer wich the best ones are to use but the best deal will range from where you live. :-) so it's hard to say. I'll do some googling for you.

Hi Di!
Lindbergs, while not the cheapest, are the best and lightest to use, just over a pound. Bucky skulls are just under 3lbs each! Waaaay too heavy to use for 3axis work, tho they would be ok for jaw-only servo-age. There's a hobby shop in N. Phoenix that BW1 told me abt, I'll have to find the name, but $15 is the going rate for Lindbergs. Abt $15 online, add in shipping, or abt $15 plus tax locally...
Found it.. it's the Hobby Bench, theres several locations in town.. http://www.google.com/search?q=hobby+bench+PhoenixCapt. Jack's YouTube 3-axis skull video page

Yea, the lindberg is what I used. I like the looks of the Bucky but it is heavier.
Though many have used the Bucky for their skulls....

Where were you about 2 hours ago Capt'n! I already bought 6 of them. The good thing is they only charged me $16.99 for the total shipping. I think that would have been what I would have paid for tax.

DI, Six!? where did you get them at? I bought 4 from Burbanks Hobby House @ $15/ea, came to $74 to my door.. I havent called PHX Hobby House's yet but BW1 said they were $15 for him... lesse.. PHX tax rate... 8%, on $90... $97.20 total? I think it might be break-even driving ther(cost of gas) but getting them 3-4 days sooner.. i'd go there next time..
