Thread: Alternative Halloween movies

Some really great lists of horror movies have appeared on this forum.

I was wondering, what about movies that have a connection to Halloween, but normally aren't included in our horror movie lists because they are not traditional horror flicks - or they are really strange or stupid?

I can think of several (I happen to like these):
Donnie Darko
The Crucible
War of the Worlds
Trick or Treat (dumb movie, but it has Gene Simmons!)

the burbs is a good one to add to the list

Love The Burbs. It's my favorite Tom Hanks movie.

I always watch The Name of the Rose at Halloween time. No monsters or witches, but lots of fear of them!

E.T. has one of my favorite Halloween sequences. The Lady in White takes place around Halloween and is a great ghost story.

et, darkness falls, and the lady in white are all really good. how about witches of eastwick, the mummy, and the gremlins

how about ghost with demi moore and patrick swazee

O.K... I don't know if anybody will even know of theses movies, or would admit to seeing them
. It's somewhat related to Halloween as much as Friday the 13.

Saturday the 14th. It's a parody to horror movies, but corny. Still a guilty pleasure...

And also another guilty pleasure...Student Bodies. another slasher movie parody...

Both I love to watch right before or after Halloween. Please someone...tell me you've seen either one...

haven't seen those, but it does remind me that a long time ago we watched one about april fools day. it was pretty good. anyone know the movie i am thinking of?
