I went to the clearance store of a local thrift store today, I was looking for clothing for props, and all the clothes were 99 cents! I got 3 blazers, one black for a vampire, plus pants to go with it, two different grey tweed type for the Frankenstein monster, need pants for those, forgot to go back to looks for those once I found the bl;azers, two different long black dresses for witches, a dark purple long one for the vampires "victim" and a white lab coat for Dr Franenstein (79 cents). All for under 8 dollars. Yippee, I love cheap!! I will be able to make all of it work, with a little tweeking here and there. Even at 1 dollar a yard material, can't beat that, let alone the time sewing. I plan on stopping in again, every so often to check things out, who knows, may find something else I like better, for the price, can't go wrong stoing it. Didn't see any thing with motors, maybe next time!!

Prop motors are hard to come by at thrift stores. I tried using oscillating fan motors but they are not strong enuff to move anything more than a pound or so.
For lab coats, scrubs dont forget to go to used uniform stores, I've bought scrubs tops/pants for $2-$4 most in fair to good cond.. some with blood stains already! muahahahahaha!

Congrats on your finds, Bethene and GothicPrincess! It's so fun to shop cheap. Savers had a 1/2 price sale on Presidents Day and I found a floor length flowing black dress made out of alternating crinkle and lace fabrics for $5.00. It has short sleeves which I was going to make long, but I might leave them short and wear elbow length spider lace black gloves with it.

Wow!! i can't believe the finds you all have made. Down where I live nothing is that cheap. I once went into a Goodwill store and there was a wedding dress that wasn't even in style, very outdated, but I thought I could make some use out of it. They wanted $400.00. I wish I could find the $25.00 ones down here by me. I'm going to keep looking though, maybe I will get lucky.
I will join in on the happy dance for all of my fellow haunters who had a great find
