Ok, people are starting to ask for my business plan... and it's not quite ready yet. Oh, I have tons of tables and charts and costs and projections, but I'm having trouble with the narrative. I'm not happy with the content of the sample business plans I've downloaded, and since I have never operated a pro-haunt before, I'm not sure what to say. I have put together some impressive home-haunts and I have been researching the subjet for the last 7 years, but will that be enough?
Does anyone here have a sample business plan for a professional haunted house?

I feel for you LV. I don't have a plan for you to look at, but I'm writing one for a greenhouse. I want to sound professional and not like a three year old. I hated writing term papers and by golly this is just like one!! If it comes down to it, there is a greenhouse business plan that I can purchase and make changes to make it my own, but I want to try to do it my way first (if I don't get too disgusted with it!)

Hey LV.. I am a vegas rat also and plan on doing the same. I have started buying major props, plan on a cool ass home haunt for 2 years then go pro. I plan on one large prop a month. ( i know that is not ideal, but I need the fix) We should get together and bounce ideas. I am already in contact with some major haunts across the country. Plan on visiting them this year. I have signed up for all the seminars and taking the Sunday night haunt tour. I am off to Hawaii tomorrow and will be back Saturday before the show...doing an informercial.

I am also working on my business plan, damn it's hard.
I have already done one years ago for my photography business, but can't find the damn thing. So it is back to scratch for me.
The business plan a'int the pain in the ass thing for me, it's finding a damn property in the right place for the right price. Anything near Glasgow is either overpriced and too small and or the right size but friggin extortionate!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhh why must this be so hard????? $5&^%%^^&

LV Scott T, try checking with your local colleges or government and see if there are any classes you can take on writing up your biz plan...they may be able to point you in the right direction for the basics and you can go from there...you might also try Entrepreneur.com, I think they have business plans there too...best of luck!!

Our local college has a business developement department that offer advice to new business owners. It guides them through the hurdles including the tax information that you would need. Maybe you have one around you.
All I really know is you have to really SELL yourself. And then just show the numbers, projections and examples...
Good luck with it ! Glad its not me !

Thanks everybody! I will check the colleges, since I want to find a drafting class that can help fine-tune my building plans and suggest a couple of elevations.
I will keep everyone posted. If all goes as I think it will, we can have next year's Meet & Greet at my "house"."Well I guess they were wrong then, weren't they?" I-gor
