I have the fountain from spirit with the guy thats cut in half and holding himself over a bowl. He has a small aquarium pump that came with him that rests in the base and makes water weep from his neck holes. I was wondering what the gph rating on a tiny aquarium pump like that would be, when you plug the pump in with no hose hooked up you get a spray of water about a foot high. I am trying to get a bigger pump to hook up to him, but not sure what size I need. I am trying to hook him up beside an outdoor pond, and want the blood to spray about 3 or 4 feet out of his neck holes. On home depots web site the pumps start at 60 GPH and then go to 210, 325 and 535. Trying to stay as cheap as possible and still get the job done.

You could try to decrease the hose size inorder to increase pressure kinda like when you squeeze the hose nossel. Pond pumps are usually limited by the distance they can pump vertically and by gph.
Kinda tough question. Decreasing hose size may also overheat the pump and shorten its life. Thinking in psi is more appropriate you need so much pressure to move so much volume so many feet vertically and I for one have long ago forgotten the equation. So the long and short of it is buy a pump and try it if it dont work take it back and step up a size or two. Thats what i do.

Well I started the ground prep today. I have about 150 gallon cultured marble soaker tub that I am setting into the ground. I am going to surround it with some type of stone, I am thinking black lava rock.I am going to have the bleeding guy suspended over one corner squirting blood into the pond. I have a black ceramic cat I am going to incorporate. And I am thinking about rigging up a couple of decapitated heads as spitters to spit across at each other. I am working 7 days a week so it will take me a while, but as it starts progressing I will post pics . I will try to post pics soon of what I am starting with.
