We are selling our house right now, and of course I have a lot of halloween props. I bought a lot of big props during the November sales. I was able to store most of my props in boxes and bags. I had one prop "Hex" that didn't make it into hidding, since it came late November. I store most of my props in one half of my basement with my washer and dryer. We came home last night and someone moved Hex onto the dryer facing out. =) Which was kind of creepy... thinking it moved on its own. =)

So I would like your opinion as to why it was moved?
    1. As a joke
    2. To scare of the next buyer, since it's quite creepy
    3. As a hint by their realtor to move it

Anybody have this happen to them?

I wouldn't drive yourself crazy over it. Maybe they were just appreciating it or maybe they liked it and just wanted to make you wonder (or worry, or smile), etc.

could have also had a kid with them that started playing with it... and the realtor or their parent said no and set it "up high".

I think it was a hint. I have known realtors to do that sort of thing. Usually they leave a note or call. But hey, maybe they were having a bit of fun with it too!

I would go ahead and move it to another location. 1) to keep anyone else from bothering it and possibly damaging it. 2) to help the house sell, the potential buyer may be religious and not enjoy the thought of your passion for Halloween or the undead. 3) if the prop moved on it's on then you will know that it will do it again in the new location..

Let us know how this unfolds...

Well the "Hex" prop is safely in a garbage bag, hidden away. It hasn't been moved since. The good thing that come of this, is I'm right back into halloween earlier this year. =)

We've had professional movers move our stuff a few times. One time when we got to our new location, the movers had this real strange look on their face when they were off-loading our stuff. They didn't say much, but then I saw the box that I had labeled as "Body Parts and Serving Bowls." No wonder they were freaked out! LOL.

    That's hillarious Skulkin!

It's hard to determine what someone's motivation is for something like this. I can only think of my own experiences of looking at houses in 2004. We had to have seen about 100 houses with our realtor, but we had a blast. He was a riot. If we had looked in your house, we most certainly would have done something harmless like that to freak you out. This guy would find something to eat in just about everyone's kitchen. It was usually something like a donut in the fridge or a Twinkie or something, but I wouldn't have been surprised if he made himself a sandwich. I'm guessing it was a joke, but a really anal realtor may have put it out to tip you off to hide it. I just have to think that if you're a realtor and see something that you feel should not be in plain view, you would just leave it be.

Good luck selling your house if it hasn't already! I hope your new place is "haunt-friendly"! By the way, I'll bet anything that when you are (or were) house-hunting, you always were thinking about how you would haunt the house you were looking at and where certain things would go. If you say that you didn't, I'd have to call you a fibber. When you're as dedicated as we all are, it's impossible not to think in those terms. What's worse is if you chose not to purchase what otherwise is a great house because you couldn't picture it all decked out with your haunts. Be honest now... were you thinking about that stuff???

maybe while they were looking around your house they noticed it and being fellow haunters, wanted a better look at it. you know, hey cool prop, this is alright. i think if they didn't like it they would have covered it up or placed it out of sight.
