What is the best, most "reflective" cloth for a FCG ghost? I am using a black light and is just doesn't stand out enough.

    Help!

Cheesecloth dipped in Rit Whitener works great and puts out a nice blue glow with a black light. It flows nicely for that ghostly effect.

We used "illusion" (my wife told me ), a material used for wedding veils. It is very light, works with multiple layers and flouresced well under black light. We are very pleased with the results.

Illusion is beautiful and flows nicely.

Cheesecloth flows too, but can have a habit of sticking to itself. Since it is cheap, give it a few test runs, soak it over night in a bucket of RIT and then air dry it, leaves it a bit stiffer that way, and also try tossing some in the dryer so that it is nice and fluffy/floaty. You can buy an 8th or quarter yard of the Illusion and also pick up some white tulle and some white sparkle tulle as well as try bits of other colors and tack onto something and test them all under black light, you might find something really cool.

I also use old window sheers soaked in RIT, can get them for nearly nothing at the thrift shops and yard and church sales. A bonus with those is any stitching or decoration may glow differently from the rist or not glow at all, very weird effects with the lacy ones, too.

I used the cheese cloth on 3 ghosts now. The effect is nice but they don't seem to store well in the off season.

I used a fabric similar to illusion, soaked in rit whitner, and it worked great, I flows and drapes well.

Alot of time Walmart has sheer fabric in their clearance bins for 1-2 dollars a yard, can't get much cheaper than that. When ever I go there I look, have picked sheer material up, also some basic blak, can't have too much of either, especially for the dollar a yard I paid!

Ditto on the "it doesn't store well" quote.

It seems to lose it's 'charge' and needs to be re-dyed.

Another neat trick with Cheesecloth...I learned from Martha Stewart.... use coffee in a spray bottle to make aged curtains! Works great. Just make some cuts and spray away. It won't glow, much, but it will give your nice windows a haunted house effect on the cheap.

I bought a box of it at Hancock Fabrics on a clearance special. Wal Mart quit selling it by the yard.
