    Hi,

    So, I need help.

I'm thinking about doing a Campground Massacre theme for my party this year. I have many ideas for the yards (although more is always appreciated) I need theme ideas for INSIDE the house.

Also needed, ideas for games and food.

    All input is welcome.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Kind of depends on the age group you want to work with, level of effort you can put in, whether you're dramatically inclined and have helpers who might be, etc. Are you gonna put on a show or use the scene as more of a party backdrop?

How morbid/gruesome/disgusting do you wanna get?

One thing you might consider is coming up with a back story for the scene--a story you can tell the guests about the awful goings-on at this terrible place. If you do it right people will love it. And try not to tell them everything. Mystery is terrific entertainment. Loose ends are by their nature a bit unsettling, eh? Maybe a few unexplained clues left lying around? Maybe a few undiscovered corpses to be stumbled upon? Maybe a "guest" who suddenly turns up missing, only to turn up later as a victim? Ghosts appearing, perhaps?

You can always go for the campy / nastalgia look on the inside. Like the decor of a Famous Dave's or similar restaurant. Kind of like the flotsam of left behind camping / outdoors gear. Tangled volly ball net, ripped fishing nets, broken badmitton rackets, those live minnow bait boxes, etc.

Is the inside of the house supposed to be the main lodge of the campground? If so, you really could do a lot with that. I will also repeat with Charles F said; how crazy do you want to get? What's your age group? If you want to go with the Camp Crystal Lake type of massacre, that's definitely for older kids.

It's a completely adult party. I throw one every year and there are no kids under whatever age our daughter is. LOL She'll be 17 this year so she's the youngest allowed. Otherwise, the rest of us are in our 20's to 30's. Well, there's one mid 40's neighbor but anyway, I digress. All adults. I have no problem with some gore, although I have a few that I am just starting to introduce to the Halloween spirit.

I have no problem with some drama and could probably get a person or two to help out. Last year I did a pirate theme and I put together a very elaborate treasure hunt. Locked my neighbor's 16 year old in a jail cell in my garage and the hunters had to go find him and release him. I have no problem with a little something. I was kinda thinking that maybe the inside be the main lodge, but I'm not sure. I'm sort of toying with the idea of creating a horizontal "bottomless bit" and making it into a mine shaft in one of the bedroom doorways. So, that would bring outside in.

So many ideas and yet so few....

The bottomless pit would be a cool idea, though the "how tos" I've always seen have it placed outside.

The main lodge idea would be great! You could have bloody prints everywhere as if the killer went on a rampage inside. Create your own body parts with old jeans and some foam and leave them lying around randomly. For added bonus points, you could include a little story about how the killer was never found and then dress up someone as the maniac and have him jump out as guests come in.
