I am curious, how many members here would sleep in a coffin every night, if given a chance.

I would love to have a Gothic bedroom complete with casket. But I am absolutely positive my hubby would not go for it.

What are your thoughts on the idea.

nope, i'm too clauster-phobic, i don't think i would do it even with the door open.

have you guys heard of this halloween 'ride' where they put you in a coffin in this motorized thing and it feels like you're being buried and having dirt thrown on top? the coffin is pitch black inside with a night camera to capture your expression and then it's put on a tv screen outside of the coffin so passer-by's can stand there and watch your reaction.

i can't remember if someone on here posted about that or if i saw it advertised at my local haunted house. either way, no sir! i couldn't do it. i would prolly crap my pants and then just pass out from fear!

yes heared of it , here is the link , http://www.hauntedvillage.com/index.html

i bought the peeping zombie beind a tombstone from them 3 years ago ....

i too wouldnt sleep in a real coffin , i had too choose my father's coffin when he passed and the memory of the room full of coffins still haunts my mind 15 years after....as a halloween prop , i probably would be ok with it , but not to sleep in it....

I think there will be plenty of time to rest in a coffin, so I vote give me a soft feather bed in a rustic cabin.

Mr. L and I have discussed the coffin bed before and we’d love to do it. I also suffer from claustrophobia so it would have to be a very wide coffin and no closing of the lid. Actually we’d like to frame our current bed with a coffin-like facade and then a huge lid on top. Sure would be ease to make the bed each morning...just close the lid. We’d also like to have a coffin coffee table and furniture in the living room but after seeing the prices on one website we have to stay with what we have.

Sleeping in a coffin, that will be really cool! But unfortunately it happens they are so expensive
I'm sparing some to buy my own... I'm building by myself a coffin shelf for my creepy books real life sized, of course!) but one coffin in my bedroom is not enough!

Nope, I couldn't do it either. Even if I knew the lid was unable to close I still wouldn't get a good nights sleep. <shivers>

I think my next vacation is going to be to the Transworld Halloween Show in Chicago.... (Except I just looked it up and they're moving it to Vegas... and it doesn't appear to be open to the public... *le sigh*)

You couldn't pay me to sleep in a coffin... because if I had the chance, I wouldn't hesitate to do it. Though, I'd hope it'd be one of those modern ones with the lined box and the fluffy pillow. I'd hate if it was an old pine box! Of course, I'd want to make sure there's enough air in there for a good night's repose first.... since I'm not being buried, I'd have to put some air vents in it too. Though, if it's just a quick nap, no need to worry. =)
