This shows how well the Fog Chiller worked. Setup was about 80% complete.

It's amazing how much a Fog Chiller helps the fog...I never set up fog without a chiller, and they are a snap to make. There is a website, I think it's called "got Fog?" and they have info.

Excellent haunt, Troy. I, too love the 3 witches. Very nice!!

Thanks for the kind words...the chiller is a Vortex style, for those of you who don't know what this is I used a 60 Qt. Igloo cooler, drilled a hole in the bottom (short end) used 2" PVC with a 90 degree elbow and another 2" piece to extend all the way up to about 4" for the top of the lid. I put wire mesh 2/3 of the way up inside the cooler, this was to hold the ice. I made a 2" outlet on the botom oposite end (long side)...The bottom 2/3 is the expansion area....Then I painted it all black..If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Awesome set up! This year will be my first using a fog chiller. Can't wait to see the difference - used just the fog machine last year. It did ok, but luckily the wind wasn't too bad that night for us.

So, in this setup your fog passes directly down through the ice with no mesh or tubing correct? I am thinking about using a similar principle in a trash can cooler. In theory direct contact with the ice would be best, I was just worried about too much condensation of the fog before it gets below the mesh.

My thought though are, if the vortex cooler works this well. Imagine if you took a garbage can and ran a tube to the top of the garbage can with metal mesh 1/2 way up and ice on top. It's essentially the same principle with a larger design.

    Any thoughts?

Awesome job on the fogger. This past year I tried to build a fog chiller and my result was all the fog stayed inside the cooler. I will have to contact you for a better design plan...
