My fellow spooksters today is a sad day in that we have lost another dear haunted soul, Vampira. For those who are not familiar with this remarkable woman that was once one of the hottest little witch to have grace the television screen in the 50’s and 60’s. Here are a few website for you to view her hauntingly beautiful form and to learn more about her. It is said that she inspired the Morticia Adams character on “The Adams Family” and that there would be no Elvira without her paving the way. She will be missed by many cheap B movie horror fans.

How sad.
SO many of the old-guard horror show hosts have left us. I still fondly remember watching Sir Graves Ghastly while growing up in Michigan.
Didn't know Vampira was actually the FIRST though.

Thanks for sharing, Spook! Yes, it is sad that such classics are departing our realms....but hopefully, we will all meet again...

A friend of mine did a documentary of the Horror show hosts called “American Scary”, and I think they interviewed her.

Hey, thanks for that. The interview says a lot about why a lot of us love halloween--creating characters, getting outside of the normal boundaries for a little while and the feeling of liberation that comes with it.
RIP, my dear. You did well.
