Wanting to do haunted carnival theme this year but I just can't jump-start my mind on what can be done besides standard evil clowns and freaks. I would like to do something that will be very scary.

What popped in my head was having zombies still doing their carnival jobs even after they have died. A zombie on a trapeeze, well the top half holding onto one side and the legs still holding on to the other (now seperated of course).

ah, man during halloween, they had this show on HGTV or TLC (i don't remember which one) and it was about the most halloween decorated houses in america. anyway this guy had his whole front yard decked out in a haunted carnival theme. it was AWESOME! he even went as far as building rides and there were skeletons in the seats! everything was motorized and it was just wonderful!

welp, i just googled it and tried to find it on youtube, with no luck!

Any time I hear Halloween and Carnival in the same sentence, I think of that "Tales from the Darkside" episode from Season 3 called "The Circus" (Written by George A. Romero... the Zombie King)

    Plot Summary From tv.com:
A skeptical journalist travels on assignment to a sideshow. Seated in a small theatre, he is greeted by a perverse caretaker/M.C. who promises (in seemingly generic fashion) to unearth strange, horrible, and presumably fake creatures. The journalist nevertheless feels disgusted when he sees a demonic vampire devour an actual lamb. He chastizes the caretaker for endorsing such horrific "enter-tain-ment". However, when fully realizing that these are actual CREATURES, the startled journalist attempts to flee the circus and unknowingly retreats into the arms of the vampire. The caretaker subsequently transforms him into a new exhibit, currently on display for the faithful flock of sideshow attendants who DELIGHT in being frightened.

I wanted to do a Tent of Horrors type of thing for my last party.. almost worked but I got laid off and had no money.

A good site for props and/or ideas is this: http://www.fiendishcuriosities.com/
A bit pricey, but I think it would be worth it if you have the money.. at least for a few items.
