It's so hard to choose. George Hamilton was a great Dracula in Love at first bite. Marty Feldman was an unforgettable Igor in Young Frankenstein. Artie Johnson played a great Renfield. These were great modern characters. But I also love Boris Karloff and Vincent Price in anything and everything they did. If you had to choose one of these characters, who would you pick?

The dementors from Harry Potter had an evil creep-factor but they weren't real actors so I don't know if they count. So if I were choosing a Harry Potter character I think I would choose Malfoy based on his evil sleazy character.

Hands down The Alien is the baddest movie monster.

For my money, it just doesn't get any better or scarrier than that.

I agree that Dracula is a classic and often duplicated. I find that Dracula is not and has never really scared me. I like Leather Face has the most frightening and maybe even Jeeper Creeper because for the first hour or so you had no idea what that thing was.

How about "The Swamp Thing" He's a pretty pathetic looking villain who could use a little bit of love.

I love the old classics with Karloff, Lugosi, Price, etc. but my favorite villain would probably be Michael Myers.

Only on a halloween or haunter's forum will you find someone saying they think Dracula is romantic - and yet I agree!

But the one that always scared me was Michael Myers - I think mostly because of the music. To me it's the scariest horror movie music ever!

My choice is Predator...simply because any creature who can choose to push a few buttons and detonate a bomb, well ya have to appreciate that...and the fact that he's got them Bob Marley dreads going on as well.
