This year I want to make little carnival booths for the kids. I plan on getting a bunch of diffrent prizes from Oriental Trading. I just can't think of games that are easy for little kids and that are on the less expenisive side to make. So any help would be cool for that part.

Also, usally at carnivals it cost money for the tookens to play. So I was thinking instead of using real money the kids could trade a piece of candy for 10 pieces of Candy Corn. The Candy Corn would then be there tookens. All kids that particpate will win something eaither way. To make it better for the pearents and the kids we will have stations set up so the adults can check there kids candy to make sure its safe and un-opend. We will kindley collect the bad candy while the kids are playing.

you can do cornhole i think it's called. i know that sounds really funny. it's a peice of wood maybe 3 feet by 3 feet and it sits at a slight angle and you throw little sewn bags of corn into the hole. you know it's kind of like a backyard skiball.

Thanks Kallie. That's a great one. I seen the Haunted House one where you throw bean bags threw the windows it looks fun and easy. I also though about doing "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown Race" where the kiddies race in trick or treat bags (like potato saks)

No carnival would be complete without a duck pond. Have skulls or body parts floating around in it instead of duckies. Mark several of them and let the kiddies fish one out. If they get the marked one, they win.

And of course there's always the dunk tank I can see you sitting up on the bench with your costume on while loads of kiddies try to hit the target to dunk you in the water hahahaha

How about maybe some sort of version of the ring toss? Also, all the kids in my family always seem to go nuts for the game where you win those goldfish - I think you have to throw a ball or something. Just get the smallest "feeder" fish - they're cheap and usually goldish in color. That's what our local fair does (I happened to be in line at PetSmart last year with the buyer for the fair).

I was thinking about doing the gold fish but then I thought what if the parents don't let them take them home? Then I'm stuck with a bunch of fish. For the ring toss, I think I'll order the one from OT. It's like pumpkin statcking one.
Would a mini grave yard scavenger hunt be a bad idea for one of the games? I was going to hide those black plastic spiders.

How about "Splat The Rat" ? It's always a winner with kids and dead easy to make

I found some instructions on how to make it here:
    Splat the Rat
"Lofty timbers, the walls around are bare, echoing to our laughter as though the dead were there."

I am in charge of our elementary school's Halloween Carnival He is some of the ideas we have used over the years:

    RAT TOSS:
Get some Big Lots plastic rats (about a buck) have them toss them from a distance into some apple baskets.

    RING THE SKELETON:
I attached a 2 foot skeleton hang man style to a PVC post that was mounted on an 18inch square piece of left over MDF. Used embroidery hoops for the kids to try to toss over the skeleton. They had to get it completely over.

    REPTILE PIT:
This is a creepy version of the "duck pond". I went to Local Dollar Stores and bought rubber snakes and squishy lizards we then put a number on the bottom of each one to tell what prize they received. We put all into a big caldron with some pea gravel on the bottom. Kids had to stick their hands into the dark pot to see what they got. Even the older kids liked it.

    MUMMY KNOCK DOWN:
I took 5 empty plastic creamer bottles and wrapped them up with strips of white cloth dipped in Elmer’s glue. Once dry, I rubbed them with a little stain to make them age and stuck some googly eyes on them. Set them on a piece of wood and have the kids try to knock them all down with two bean bags (also easy to make). Another version we have used is buy the empty quart paint cans at Home Depot make your own labels for them like "Eye of Newt" "Dragons Breath" etc.

At our school fairs we always had a "go fishing" station...have small poles with line attached and at the end of the string attach a clothespin (or some other little gripper/pincher thing). Then set up a barrier (a board, or even a sheet thrown over a rope will work) big enough for an adult to hide behind. The kids throw their fishing line over the barrier, and the adult clips on a small prize that they then pull back. As it is a Halloween affair, go crazy with the 'prizes': spiders, skulls, body parts, candy etc. It's a really easy game for the smallest children. Your carnival idea sounds great, have fun with it!
