Thread: got a great deal- but now what? Help!

Today at CVS I got a animated deer for 5 dollars. Has anyone hacked them, what was made out of them, and how- I guess you could say- strong are they, or how do they hold up in props, do they have to be light weight props? Any insight would be much apprecated. Thanks !!

Wow, what a steal. And yes, they've been hacked. Try a search in the forums for animated deer...I seem to recall a hell hound hack among others.

Yes, you can hack them or gut it for the motor and linkage to make other props, good deal.

Excellent hack and no the motors do not have much torque so just keep the head as light as possible. We made or should say are making ours a wolf. Gotta get her moving on that thankyou for reminding me.

i saw one of those deer manipulated and hung by it's back feet from a tree. it had red christmas lights coming out of the stomach and down to a pile on the ground. it looked like a deer hanging there getting gutted. really gross...but great thinkin!

I made the Dracula in my 2007 haunt that is looking back and forth from behind a gravestone out of one of those....

So is the hand that lifts up/down sticking out of the "newly-filled grave"

hippieonastick, Ho Ho Ho Have a Haunted Christmas hu? Kewl! And bayork just someone could turn one of the guts from those silly deers into something neat.
