I thought I would start a little discussion about pumpkin ales...always an interesting thing to discuss...I just went to a local beer emporium and asked them if they had any pumpkin beers available and they had four different types...said if I had stopped by around Halloween time I could have tried NINE different types!
But I bought a few bottles of pumpkin beer and took it home...one of them is called "Jack's Pumpkin Spice Ale," and has subtle flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and clove...as well as a delicate pumpkin backdrop. It's very tasty.
And you should see the label on this thing~!

I think there was a big thread about this at the other nasty place too. OEJ loves the seasonal brews, but I'm pretty sure we don't have as many as nine! I don't drink but if memory serves, we only have three. Modern Drunkard magazine should do a Halloween issue and highlight the seasonal ales. That would be a hoot.

How fascinating. I don't drink either Succub'Oz but I did enjoy ginger beer when I visited my son in New Zealand. I found a website that has a section on Pumpkin Ale. So here is the link:

We've thought about saving the labels and putting them in a photo album or pressing them in a book, then you don't have a bunch of bottles lying around.
What is ginger beer in New Zealand? The last time I'd heard of ginger beer was from my ex's 80+ year old grandma and how her grandparents would make it for sure. I thought it was kind of like root beer, but I'm not sure. I can't stand the taste or smell of beer especially but I'd like to try that butter beer stuff from Harry Potter.

Maybe we could start a new label and and start a new brewery with our forum friends. Do you think we could get rich? Or would you all drink the profits? I'm in the middle of setting up a web-based business. It's making my head hurt...there must be some way to get rich quick. Oh, I got it! Witches in "string" bikini's
